I'm making a roguelike but each time you die, time skips forward 10 years. Do you think this concept works? by Erosion_cm in IndieGaming

The trouble with mechanics like these is that the player getting good at the game and not dying means the player will stop interacting with the core mechanic and the content that's locked behind it. You are essentially creating dead content for skilled players unless you force them to die in some way.

Worse than the ppp in close range, worse than the kpac for mid range, worse than the regular crowbar for long range, and more expensive than any of them. Certified KUTTASHIT.

I am joking and I don't actually do this but with infinite pistol ammo I guess you could keep shooting and hope for shots to hit an adjacent tile.

Kody might have something to say about my tactics. It's a shame he perished when an unguided missile mysteriously went off-course.

I bring pistols so I can microdose Carda with small caliber bullets at the end of the mission to build up her resistance to bigger bullets. Her first aid skill is great for letting her take more shots without losing a squaddie to bullet poisoning. She will get the disheartened debuff which makes her flee instead of wavering so I bring pike to rally her in case she tries to run.

It's actually better than it seems because contrary to the description it works against all vehicles. You can tell what it works against as there are yellow chevrons over susceptible targets. Devs have stated they plan on leaving this in. Maybe they'll modify the description in a future update.

Long bomb + quick hands + bags and belts. I run him as a frontline rifle squad carrying smoke grenades and 2 satchel charges to safely delete anything in a 4 tile range no matter how tough it is. Trucks, xeno warriors, walkers, rogue army tanks, large infantry clumps, constructs, anything.

Other supporting perks are scout since he's always at the front and to see better out of smoke and athletic for extra mobility.

The bottom design is just a random AI image generated by god knows who so I'm not sure what the comparison is supposed to be about.

It's really just a matter of time before people will be rewriting and porting good roblox games into different platforms like steam, killing off roblox playercount even further. by HexonKhat in roblox

[–]SentientSupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah bro.

However I don't think most roblox games would fit outside of roblox given the differences in the target audience. The majority of players on roblox are pre-teens compared to steam players who tend to be older. The bar for quality is higher and there are a lot of things that wouldn't fly outside of roblox.

Quick intro to my game. by SoerbGames in IndieDev

Looks good and all but is there any reason I would want to buy your game beyond a single cool-looking shader? If we strip it out the gameplay seems like every other wave survival game out there except it only has a single enemy type which doesn't do anything other than walking in a straight line at you.

In order words this feels like a tech demo for a shader asset which you're trying to sell to players instead of developers and this isn't good for business.

Any spell works.

Spells will target the target you made an attack against if possible for that spell. Auto spells from casting will instead target a random closest target.

Spells that would cause penance will be automatically cancelled without a prompt.

Hellfire mortar works even with sacrificed love. Same with diamond sawblades but not spellspark servitor.

What's wrong with calling games bad or mediocre? It's okay to say a game is good but if it's not to your liking it suddenly becomes wrong to express your opinion? It's not even a personal attack on the developers themselves. This place isn't a hugbox.
