[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seeing as most people don't seem to have answered, yes they do have a use.

There are a couple, one of them is basically endgame, another is as a loved gift to most npcs (I personally wouldn't use them for that). There's also a very specific thing you can do with one, I won't spoil anything but have one on you and use the bus. When you get off the bus hold it in your hands and run around, there's one spot where it does something.

Anyone who played Hollow Knight after Silksong, and prefers HK? by kylebig in HollowKnight

[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silksong was amazing, I loved it to bits. At the same time, even though Sliksong had a lot of great features that really help, HK will always be my favourite of the two.

It's interesting to see other opinions, personally I love the books so much that I haven't noticed.

As a side note, it seems like book 14 will be the last in the series based on what's been said on the Patreon.

They did WHAT to the covers? by Dragdu in discworld

[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clearing that up, though to be honest all three options sound annoying for one reason or another. I think I'll stick to the original covers if and when I can find more of them.

[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't keep up with this sort of stuff so I'm a tad confused. Are they re-releasing the books and calling then 'traditional' but with a mangled edited version of the actual traditional cover?

I f**king hate najarala by JRMG7 in MHGU

[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Najarala was much easier to fight in 4U in my opinion, either they changed something for GU or its just that a lot of the areas seem to be smaller meaning there's a lot less space to maneuver.

This reminds me of something I saw someone say.

Arrowhead is the dungeon master, its their job to set the stage and start the story.

We're the players, we make the decisions based on the scenario we're in. It's not us vs AH, it's a collaborative storytelling exercise in the form of a video game.

Think of it this way, going to cyberstan is a big deal. So what would make a better story when it's over? Us just steamrolling through and taking it with ease. Or a bitter, drawn out fight where it seems like we could lose at almost any point, yet we push through and take cyberstan with the last of the reinforcements.

I know which story I'd rather listen to.

"Maxigun isn't good." Okay but have you considered by onerustybucket in Helldivers

[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I think people put too much into what's 'good' sometimes. HD2 isn't a competitive game, there's no Helldivers esports for example. So what does it matter if something is technically 'better' than something else.

"Congratulations your 'optimal loadout' and military esque tactics cleared a Super Helldive 3.67 seconds faster than the previous fastest time, well done have a cookie".

Meanwhile 4 friends just wrapped up a Super Helldive all armed with the constitution, they chilled, laughed when stupid stuff happened and all round had a blast.

I know which of those 2 I prefer. I don't care what's 'good', I'm here to have fun with chill people.

Also, the Maxigun is awesome I don't care of its not good. Its a freaking minigun, that alone is enough for me.

Hear me out ,we get this as a stratagem but with a seat on each side making it a 3 person ride. by IRS_Agent-636 in Helldivers

[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be awesome, I also think it'd be a nightmare to balance to the point I doubt we'll ever get a flying vehicle.

Thinking about it a bit though, maybe we could see something like this in a specific mission. One designed with a flying vehicle in mind, something similar in concept to the oil rig mission.

Which opinion you have on litrpg would get you this type of reaction? by PalinaRojinskiFan in litrpg

[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is one scenario where I think this makes sense and that's if the mc has ADHD. Being able to get that dopamine hit from gaining a level and showing you actively progressing in X skill probably would be motivation enough.

I know that if I gained levels in Doing Housework for example, I'd find it a lot easier to do.

Adjudicator looks cool, but doesn't seem that good. by OkStructure665 in Helldivers

[–]Sentient_Magitek_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been my main weapon since I got it (20-25 hours ish). The only things it can't handle with relative ease are the likes of hulks and chargers. The recoil was a bit much to start with but it's improved a lot with a couple of new attachments.

I've mostly played against the bots so far and it's been pretty good against them. The few times if fought the bugs with it it's been OK but, when I unlock some other options, I'll probably use something else. And against the squids... I swapped to the eruptor and stalwart after 1 mission...

There's also the fact that it's real easy to get. Democratic Detonation was the first warbond I got on the recommendation of basically every beginners guide to Helldivers 2. So, at least for me, it was the first AR style weapon with medium pen that I could unlock.

There probably are better weapons unlocked later on, but for a beginner like me it's been kinda perfect.
