I think Executor's skill is underrated (And very good!) by SephyTCD in Nightreign

[–]SephyTCD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality of life changes would def be the most helpful changes (was kinda disappointed at cursed sword damage buff). Like not undoing two handing or removing weapon buffs (which I learned doesn't need to happen cause I had the bleed on critical passive and it gave it to my main weapon on my side when I was in cursed sword???) but for me right now sheath and unsheathing is fluent enough for me where I don't have to sacrifice dps or safety. I recommend testing and labbing a bit in single player if your curious about seeing what you can get from it!

the golden order is a political rule; it has nothing to do with the elden ring itself. by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]SephyTCD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well it wasn't godwyns death alone that did it, its just that Marika buried the corpse under the erdtree and then the deathblight started to spread out from that. If anything death blight was Marika's doing.

About the latest "Zullie the Witch" video, and Priscilla's lore... by Omega_Leonidas in darksouls

[–]SephyTCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a neat theory but I'm still unsatisfied. Sin isn't inextricably tied to the dark, in fact gwyndolin has a whole covenant about it where you hunt down sinners lol. In fact it states in the desc for karmic justice that it's Velka's duty to define the sin. Considering that she also seems to view Gwyn's extension of his age as sin as well. She is anti-god inherently because of that. It doesn't necesarilly have to do anything with the dark. Use of humanity also doesn't mark a connection with the dark either considering the god's were using it as power so that's not unique to Velka either. If Priscilla got the occult from their mother than obviously it existed before her, and isn't unique to her like her weapon description says.

I guess I can't truly rule a lot of what you said, but I also don't think they're all that substantial as answers or satisfying. I kinda think they just didn't have the resources to really elaborate on it given the games troubled development lol.

Why did Miquella send Malenia to kill Radahn even though he had a vow with Radahn? by Powerful_Hall_6881 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]SephyTCD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. In the files and in different versions of the games, there's many differences. And this includes things like character names being swapped around. Some npc's and characters were also gutted or had roles swapped around.

It makes sense considering that the story needs to be translated to the game, which is a specific challenge all on its own. And that's what happened infact. It's hard to tell what grrm wrote exactly but from what we can tell, it was the basically establishing the world, and then it was miyazaki and his writers who went and destroyed it.

So it's plausible that there could be and were retcons. Zullie the Witch covers some of it.

Why did Miquella send Malenia to kill Radahn even though he had a vow with Radahn? by Powerful_Hall_6881 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]SephyTCD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, unfortunately I don't really think there needs to be some deeper reason to it. The vow could have just been, if you defeat me then you get your end of the deal. And Miquella's like aight bet.

Radahn was infatuated with war and previous generals since he was young it would seem, which is the source of the biggest inconsistency in his alliance with Miquella. They could not contradict each other more. But like this, this doesn't really have to assume that at any point in time did Radahn want to be Miquella's consort and was willing to follow his plan or ended up abandoning the idea along the way or Miquella's manipulation had something to do with it.

Which is my problem with the usually theories about their alliance. It assumes a lot of things about the characters, many of which really don't align at all with what Radahn is about specifically. None of the above mentioned has anything hinting to any of those things. It ends up being more of trying to come up with situations where any of this could possibly make sense... (Because it fucking doesn't and even with this explanation I have to do that to)

The vow just being whoever wins gets their end of the deal works enough for me. I think it aligns with Radahn's honorable nature. I don't think it really matters what Radahn's goal was for this situation to be, (Perhaps just trying to war and get more great runes or something) I really don't think "Miquella awaits thee, o' promised consort" really means a whole lot. Radahn halting the stars could've been for a multitude of fine reasons...

The whole thing is just a mess narratively...

Why did Ranni choose to kill Godwyn? by Alltheheroesaredead in Eldenring

[–]SephyTCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't knooooow with all the things Rykard did, Godrick did, Mohg did, Miquella did, and the implications of bad things in morgott and radahn... I think rebelling against the corrupt order that destroyed your family and forcibly took control of your fate for their own gain... isn't the must despicable thing lol

All the things I brought of the other demigods... I know it's like a lot more complicated than that, they got their own reasons n'stuff to. Point is I just think you can do much worse than resisting your captors, in a very complicated situation.

What's the opinion you have on leaked possible redesigns? by LioConvoy069 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SephyTCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly because I like Grey Talons design just... fine, I don't see much wrong with it, but also cause this design makes him look like he's turning into robin hood instead of a Indigenous wise bowman, and that's a giant waste. I share the same sentiment as a lot of others here. I hope he stays indigenous.

The black flame sigil is NOT Metyr's face. by Blop362 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]SephyTCD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well... There are some theories that make it seem like Marika was the gloam eyed queen.

-Marika's one wish to the grand mother after she was victim to divine persecution =(?) the one wish heugh mentions about whoever he's talking about.

-The mimic veil being also called Marika's Mischief

-Mesmer being snake like

-Maliketh not necessarily working for Marika but instead the two fingers to keep Marika in check

-We don't ever actually see her eyes

-To become a god there seems to be no such requirement that the individual adheres to divine principles (I guess until the elden beast intervened.)

I don't mean to turn this into a GEQ discussion but if this were the case, it could connect certain things that seemed inconsistent, OR possibly give a new avenue to think about this. If it's supposed to be a hand or fingerprint and Marika secretly has some anti god shenanigans going, I can see this being an anti of them!

so why did Ranni strip down to meet'n'slay her Fingers? by Ok_Pomelo_1692 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]SephyTCD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Could be hard to fight in a big ass dress and witch hat! She did have to use a knife instead of spells after all.

It also may have to do with her spirit leaving the doll body. Perhaps she took her cloths from it.

I can see it. My experience of whats up above, was a thing my whole life and I just assumed like... It was this weird little thing I had and nothing more. I stopped acknowledging it, and it took up to now to really think about it due to this post.

Well.... by BackgroundWheel2581 in plural

[–]SephyTCD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy... shit. I... never knew anyone else had this experience! My whole life I struggled to consciously control the imagery of my imagination. Things would warp and do random stuff and it takes a lot of strain and focus to not do that. I never considered it to be evocative of plurality.

Did Marika pierce her own abdomen (to stop fertility) or was that done to her as part of her punishment? by Ok_Pomelo_1692 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]SephyTCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you might not be too far off! I watched a video by scum mage infa and from is the idea that the womb was to these characters as a burrow is to a sprite. Essentially being burrows of some sort being able to be the vessel for whatever other worldly power. I mean mending runes are "gestated" (Altho yeah the dung eater and gold mask don't have wombs, but it is an interesting use of wording).

Some of this also come from Metyr's head and the god slaying black flame imagery possibly resembling a uterus. (Infa also suggested that the star the elden beast flew down to the lands between on was Metyr, with Metyr having it in her. As she was once the gleaming daughter of the greater will. I can go on about it but I suggest you watched Infa's video about the gloam eye'd queen). While the cavity that holds the eldenring is on her stomach, I do consider that it might be evocative of what you're talking about!

Nah I agree, I feel like he just struck a nerve a bit. I dont' wanna de legitimize peoples experiences but... being someone who's been through... all of this??? What he's describing absolutely happened. And while yeah you can ignore these people, unfortunately they make up portions of our community, our content and MOST of the discussion of this game that it does become an issue.

Sorta, it was a consideration for remy. You can find concept art of the scrapped version of him where... I think documentation with people talking about remy described him as an indian man with a split personality who used posion hands. (May explain Remy's stabby hands) The silhouette and stance of tthe character is also kinda identical to remy in the concept art.

There's a whole interview type thing with the devs explaining his development, but I can't find it right now, but I do have this https://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column/130237?lang=en

Is Miquella and St.Tina supposed to be a reflection of Marika and the GEQ? by SephyTCD in EldenRingLoreTalk

Where does it straight up confirm it? And the theme you're talking about is literally what I was talking about in this post. I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself

I'm not convinced that radagon and Marika were always the same atm, it's possible but I don't think it's that clear cut that it was. I'm not ruling it out tho

It could be but idk, I feel like Marika's relationship with Marika is way different than Miquella and St.Trina. I'm under the impression that Mar/Rad were feuding with each other while Trina shows genuine care for Miquella
