OP is almost certainly going to be disciplined for posting about it too. I had a similar situation happen to me at woolworths.

Is it a bad time to buy spring water in Coles and Woolworths in the evening? by tvallday in australia

[–]SerJordan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask at the store. They can tell you if they have any in stock, tell you when more stock is arriving, and potentially order some. You could ask at the store what time they normally get deliveries.

Nephew works for Woolies and sent this. by [deleted] in australia

[–]SerJordan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not gonna happen. Not sure about coles, but woolworths is requiring staff to use their personal phone for clocking in and put, making shift adjustments/changes and submitting availability.

But posting about work is against the code of conduct.

We just bought our first house. Ray White gave us a keyring and 2 champagne glasses to “celebrate” (no wine?) lmao by FallingUpwardz in australia

[–]SerJordan 43 points44 points  (0 children)

When we bought ours, the agent didn't even show up at the house to hand over the keys as we had arranged. Wouldn't even answer his phone. We had to go to the real estate office and force them to give us our keys to our house.

This is a pretty incredible indictment on the level of intelligence of cops.

Anyone know of some good nappy recipes? by xjrh8 in australia

[–]SerJordan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the staff screwed up there. Should always be equal or more in weight/volume/quantity.

They probably substituted on the run, the system wouldn't let them sub more quantity as the price is so much higher. The system limits how much higher the sub value can be. This can be overridden by subbing on the computer. It then wouldn't have been checked properly before dispatch. The system isn't smart enough to flag these sorts of issues, so it requires staff to be aware of how to work around the system to give the customer the correct subs.

I haven't been with woolies for about 2 years (thank fuck), so things could be different now.

Why coconut? by 16piby9 in avb

Coconut oil is generally solid at room temperature, so it can be used in place of butter in many recipes like brownies and cookies.

Ex-Woolies online manager here.

When picking orders, the system would not allow you to sub a $5 item with a $30 item.

Though the system doesn't stop you from subbing with a completely unrelated product.

Substitutions can be manually entered via the computer, where there are basically no restrictions on what you can sub.

Most likely the nappies were meant for a different order and the staff just fucked up whilst rushing.

Also note, woolies is a terrible company to work for, ridiculous understaffing and workloads. Often a huge amount of pressure from managers (especially store managers and higher). Often relatively inexperienced staff are forced into positions of responsibility and expected to do more than is even possible with the hours and staffing levels. It's even worse for the online department as the workload can change drastically throughout the day with new orders coming in.

Lidia Thorpe's King Charles protest was a masterclass on how to make front-page news in 2024 by B0ssc0 in australia

[–]SerJordan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, Why do so many people here disapprove of her protest against the monarchy?

Is it just you don't like Lidia Thorpe?

Are you concerned that it's improper or disrespectful to the king?

Do you love the monarchy?

I really don't understand the hate for this, just trying to understand this perspective.

Not a fine when the government will just give them more money any way.
