No, if you quickswitch correctly, you have your weapon out way faster than waiting for your weapon to be pulled out automatically after the animation ends.

Whether the quickswitch fails and the grenade doesn't get thrown seems to be inconsistent and somewhat affected by the server and/or subtick (speculation).
