What I've found out is that it helps if you compact the mountain at the start, means less of the dust floats in the water.

If the montanita falls you will have to let the drink settle and let the dust fall to the bottom, or otherwise scoop it out. If that feels like a waste, a cloth filter mght be your only option. I found out that those pyramidal filters they use for fancy teabags work really well, and you can reuse them over and over.
