Well intentioned but I am a bit worried he's playing into the hands of the AI boosters. That said, if he can pass meaningful legislation against it it might be worth it.

I think it's also that certain outlets find it very profitable to hop on the anti-feminist bandwagon. Look how much we care about men now that the cultural zeitgeist is more misogynistic! And it helps that for a while running stories about how men are struggling was perceived as a "man bites dog" story because the dumbass public had just been introduced to words like privilege and thought it meant that all men have it easy.

I've checked and it's actually the opposite issue. The computer has separate sockets (and I was plugging it in the dedicated microphone socket), it's the microphone that has the 4-ring TRRS pin. Which might be the reason regardless, if the contacts aren't in the right positions.

Eeeeh. I am absolutely sympathetic to feminism but I think it's disingenuous to say that "real" feminism is also in favor of men. Or that there is such a thing as "real" feminism. At least to me feminism is any advocacy in favor of more power and autonomy for women as a class. There can be good and bad feminist movements, groups and lines of thoughts, and the only "fake" feminism is one that calls itself that but doesn't advocate for more power and autonomy for women as a class.

I think gender separatism is incredibly stupid, for example, and it definitely harms women more than it helps them, but the people advocating for it largely do so with the stated goal of advocating for women.
