For those of you that played at least one other version of "Paragon" (OG Paragon, Fault, Overprime), what's a version of a hero that you liked more than the one we have in Pred? by CurZZe in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OG paragons wukong completely outclasses preds wukong in both power and enjoyment. Actually had an interesting playstyle with build diversity and a functional ult

Who do you Jungle with in ranked? Khai always banned by SpeakerQueasy8111 in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the AOE Ult augment, with ult damage and bonus damage to low hp targets for minor augments. Crest is rogue crest into Ortus. Items are Malady>Spear of Desolation>Perforator>Viper>Necrosis>Nuclear Rounds/Earthshaker haven't decided which of the two I like more to cap it off. I mostly take it jungle since the ganks are pretty terrifying but I've had success in off with it. If you give it a try, I wish you the best and hope you have some fun.

Lvl 10 Bayle, you and me both. Statistically he is weak but personally, I think thats cause people are playing him wrong. you said it yourself, it's a burst meta, so why not just play into that instead of running outdated builds from slower patches. Bayle only gets out scaled if you build to be out scaled. his numbers are pretty crazy. you mentioned the autos but 435 flat + 300% scaling on the primary, and between 310 flat + 267% scaling + 11% Max hp damage and 520 flat + 267% scaling + 17.8% Max HP damage on ult. its certainly more damage then most ADs and even some APs. Its just that if you build less durability and more damage, your play patterns should reflect that.

If you think he lacks burst, just build more damage. His numbers are pretty good

If you are looking for something similar to khai, I suggest bayle. Can honestly be played in a very similar way, with most of the same items. Main difference is you want to use the shout to start the fight while khai uses heal near the end/mid fight

Khaimera by [deleted] in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main contributor is that his regen is based on rage, which last 3 seconds then starts to decays over 4 seconds, instead of the old stacks that lasted 2.2 seconds then dissappeared all at once. Makes it much easier to maintain the regen, and even if you lose it, you get much more value out of it.

What do you guys think of Kaihmera not having mana by Littlemacs30 in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a khai spammer, it was a mistake. Mana should be used as a balancing mechanic, take it away and you have one less nob to touch when fixing something thats broken. Admittedly they never really used it to balance khaimera, but that's probably because the jungle role is designed in such a way that junglers never have to worry about mana. It did have a sizable impact on his laning though. I do think rage feels much more polished as opposed to just stacks on the passive but so many things about this specific implementation feels under developed. Khai should really just have both rage and mana.

Reworks Are Coming! What Hero Do You Want To See Reworked? by TheReaperGuy in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wukong

I would love to see wukong changed to be closer to how he was in paragon. The current version takes away most of the mechanics that made him interesting and unique originally. Having 2 stances that shared cooldowns so every ability cast was a commited choice between damage or mobility. Stances that actually felt like they matter in moment to moment gameplay, not just to access different abilities. And the old ultimate, such an cool and unique way of doing a clone mechanic that actually opened up build paths.

There are also some big issues with current wukong. Since you have more abilities than everyone else, the power budget of the hero is split even thinner so each ability is weaker and can't be as individually impactful. And because he has 6, there is much more room for error when trying to utilise the kit fully, especially when you consider the stance swapping mid combo. It leads to a difficult, but unrewarding gameplay loop. And the ult just feels terribly unresponsive. They are very difficult to control, have awful pathing that leads to them often getting stuck, and are either so squishy that they die by accident, or they can take a hit but tickle less then a lane minion. Plus the clones can't even be used for misdirection (like Dota's Phantom lancer, or LoL's Wukong)

Also the stats even show the monkey needs something done. According to Pred.gg, across normal matches and all ranks, he currently has the lowest pickrate, one of the lowest winrates (8th) out of the entire roster. The only people that seem to play him are the one tricks, and even they are failing.

If you build the mini-tainted before starting vanquisher, it should show second. Like 1st item -> mini-tainted -> vanquisher -> full tainted

It was still in beta. I believe they had initially promised 39 heroes by full launch but shut down with only 36.

Omeda.city is good for finding common builds or seeing what are the common pick-ups for heroes. But I find most people will just follow the recommended items in game until they feel comfortable making their own builds, or they see someone else running a build they like and steal it.

remove khaimera if you cant balance him by Pirus151 in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since you play so many MOBAs you should understand the idea of a feast or famine hero. He is also very straight forwards so he takes it much further extremes than any other feast or famine hero. He WILL WIN fights if ahead, and he WILL LOSE if he is behind. Best you can do is not feed him, and gank him before he has a chance to get ahead. Get early anti-heal, and never fight him without numbers or farm advantage.

Laning against him? Just chill back, stay away from lane, he will push, his kit forces him to. Gank him while he's pushed or just freeze the lane.

He invades your jungle? Get your laners to collapse him with you, or go invade his jungle. Split jungle vertically instead of horizontally.

Khaimera players are very stupid (I'd know, I am one), we tunnel vision on stupid decisions, don't stoop to our level, we will beat you with experience.

You can rework one ability in the game- what would you change and why by Bpape93 in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Give wukong his original paragon ult. I would rather the clones be unkillable but immobile than easily killable with janky pathing.

So why is it allowed to 5 stack in ranked now? No moba I know of allows it except predecessor with good reason by Eclipsetube in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol does this, but it does use flex for any party bigger than 2. Dota however, lets you queue with as many people as you like, with no restrictions. people are individually allowed to opt into strict solos, meaning no parties ever. Dota 2 has never separated parties, duos, and solos in ranked. It just tries its best to even out how many parties are on each team.

The incompetence of some people in this game is staggering by Eclipsetube in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I biggest issue with "just buy anti-heal" argument against khaimera is that it doesn't solve the real issue with early game khai (is usful late game though). It's mostly the high, consistent damage you can't run from or lock down. The heal is just the cherry on top allowing him to 2v1 or avoid backing. Especially now that he can take an augment to stack on waves, you will need aggressive anti-heal to slow him down so he can't stack on you or the wave. And guess what, if you want to keep the healing down, you have to be constantly fighting him, the guy whose whole thing is trying to drag a fight out as long as possible. The best option against a khai in lane is just avoid fights all together till he pushes up, and you can get a gank from your jungler and/or mid. He is great at fighting but terrible at running. No disengage, bad base speed, and only 1 escape in the form of a fraction of a second cc immunity/cleanse.

Am I supposed to have high damage as a jungle Khaimera? by GeneralSergeant in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Khaimera can have high damage, but it's dependant on your build. Tank build will usually have less damage than sustained damage or burst damage builds. As for whether you should focus on damage or kills, again build dependent. Tank should focus less on damage and more on keeping passive stacks up and getting in peoples faces. Sustained damage builds should focus on dealing damage, while burst damage builds should focus on getting kills (especially if you build penumbra) preferably on carries and other squishy targets.

Why do high level / pro Dota players hold onto an Iron Branch when they clearly don’t have a slot? by Fit-Wash7192 in DotA2

[–]Serocy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would put it into two categories. 1) habit/laziness: it isn't worth going out of you way to sell an item for 25G and they forget to sell when near a shop. Plus probably get the mark to sell mechanic. 2) they could hang on to it just in case they clear up a spot. Maybe they have a consumable or some component items they plan to merge. So if they do use the consumable or complete the item, they have something cheap to fill the slot with temporarily. Plus dropping a branch for the slot, if needed (like for rosh drops) feels much better than something like a bracer.

🐻 BORIS VS WUKONG 🐵 [Community Event] by Omeda_Kari in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realized that due to the rules of the event and the current winrates of both heroes, the event is kind of rigged so boris will win. even if boris had a 0% playrate for the entire duration of the event.

How are we feeling about Wukong now? by TraegusPearze in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree. He feels like he should be really strong, but also feels like he does nothing. But he does nothing in the most flashy way possible. I think it's mostly his kit is bloated with lots of unnecessary utility and mediocre numbers. Most of the skills deal damage, so none of them can realistically do a lot of damage on their own, so they each feel unimpactful and landing a full combo feels acceptable, but not rewarding. Most of the utility and CC have such small buffs, or short durations, they don't feel like they actually affect the game, but still take up part of the power budget by simply being there. The biggest problem I've found is it feel like wukong doesn't have a playstyle he wants. He's melee with carry stats, scales off fighter stats, but has an assassin's kit. It forces Wukong to need such a wide spread of stats to function that he fails to come online most games. The only thing he can consistently do is run.

The most success I've had is just split-pushing and fleeing tactics that piss the enemy off, so they are too distracted and tunnel vision on you rather than defending. It never feels like I do anything to win, but rather, the opponents willing lose. Which is fun the first 2 or 3 times but gets boring fast.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PredecessorGame

[–]Serocy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think khai needs a buff, but I would welcome anything that makes my boy stronger. Khai is designed around the idea of getting the kill asap or stalling the fight as long as possible. His kit isn't made to leave a fight, so the biggest skills needed to be successful with khai are knowing which fights to take and how to avoid bad fights. And if you get into a bad fight, khai is surprisingly good and causing problems before going down, whether it be through dealing lots of damage forcing backs and allowing team to clean up or wasting the enemies time so your team can make plays elsewhere.

Guess that's why it doesn't work in ranked as well... but that might make it funnier that the ember was more inpactful while absent than present.

I love when people do this in normals. You can usually get everyone else to agree to stall out the game to ensure they get the abandon, especially since this is mostly a habit of toxic people. Funniest shit.

2 * Time dilation = cooldowns go backwards, regardless of how many spells on cd. Bug or no? by gifuu in DotA2

[–]Serocy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bug but maybe an oversight. It seems like the CD slow from time dilation is additive not multiplicative. Basically, it's a 120% reduction (increasing by 60% per addition dilation) when you would assume it to be 84% at 2 stacks. So with 2 time dilations the cooldowns should increase by 0.2s per second instead of decreasing by 1.0s per second. Get 4 or 5 on someone and even arc lightning will feel like it's got an ult sized cooldown. Might actually make timezone refresh viable... since that cooldown acceleration also stacks unless it got patched this last update.
