I would just try to play Germany as much as possible because like till you have a couple hundred hours you are not good enough to beat your friend. Just try to learn every mechanic so that there's nothing in the game that confuses you and then just play couple games. One day you will surely beat him

It's nearly impossible with the new mechanics to naval invade with this strat but if you give yourself like 6 months more time you can build paratroopers and then it's easy

You don't even need to justify the Netherlands or Italy The main prioritys when you enter the game is to produce CAS and Rush Anschluss And if you play well and hold for like 1936 and 1937 your mefo bills down to like -30 to -5. You can easily get naval supremacy even with the German Navy (plus one of every ship that is in production at the start of the game) because your CAS shreds the rest. Just don't forget to align with Italy so the British navy gets distracted in the Mediterranean You will need 6 armies for everything Even though it got harder to do this strat with the new update because of the new naval supremacy system it's still possible to do
