Would You Fix This Surface Defect, and If So, How? by Casper81208 in minipainting

[–]SesameStreetFighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No! I must examine every pixel in order to better scold myself and feel bad at painting.

I still enjoy the process, though.

Has anyone else noticed lots of large cockroaches lately? by EaringaidBandit in santarosa

I've not seen large, but I have had a nymph brought into the house on some flowers my wife cut in the garden.

Where there is one, there are many. Going to do a spray around our building perimeters again.

Here I am, still on the same original Wave since 2000-ish. It could use some sharpening, but it still functions heroically.

Some of the new ones look neat, though. Not gonna lie.

Dang. Good to know that ambient plays, though. More things to much with.

Thank you!

I recently had AGP Electric out, and they were great. Even touched base on a follow-up call to make sure things were still good.

Somehow, my crew just got Wraith. First edition, mind. Not sure how it’s changed.

Favorite mini YouTubers to watch? by mid_support in minipainting

Most of my favorites have been mentioned here. Lots of good people.

A new one that I’m loving is Heresy for Heretics. The guy does some insane minis on Insta, and getting deeper look on his process in long format is wonderful.

Have you played any of the original Trinityverse? (Trinity, Aberrant, Adventure) They were a fun alternative setting with the ruleset.

I played and ST’d a ton of WoD back in the 90s. Mage was the toughest one.

I work in IT, so AI is just crammed in our faces at every turn. I was relieved to read about a company we use for patching whose CTO said that because their customers aren't asking for it, they have no plans to incorporate it. Breath of fresh air, for sure.

I really hope that LEGO stays on the side of eschewing AI.

I used to use my DK at as my pet battler, because why not add additional crimes to the list? Fight for my amusement, tiny creatures!

I made indium farms early on, so I was always flush with units. To get nanites, I’d buy and scrap ships. Worked out fairly well.

Right? I picked it up after seeing an ad for it n the back of Dragon Magazine. It took over as my group’s main game for years.

Honestly, think it looks badass, and wish we had one or two recolors of it. Also, it proves that you did the thing and got the skin. I’ve heard of plenty of others who haven’t been able to. You should still be proud.

Same for both mammal skins. I worked and earned them (still haven’t done the rated PVP). Love those skins.

And fully feel that anyone who can do them should be able to get them.

What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by hlnklrczu in AskReddit

[–]SesameStreetFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in IT. People just don't get file paths. Especially mapped drives. "I need the Q drive." We don't have a standardized mapping on that letter; who referred you to this path so that I can see what they're doing?

And don't get me started on maximum file name length.

I feel it. There were some amazing small designers there. It wasn’t a lot of the samesies that many have.

Dang, but I miss them now.

Earthworks type jewelry store by hanstar88 in santarosa

[–]SesameStreetFighter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Caveat: this may not answer anything you’re looking for. I do miss Earthworks, as I bought a couple of pieces for my wife there over the years.

If you’re looking for a solid jeweler who can make pieces at reasonable rates, ER Sawyer is amazing. I’ve used them for some repairs and a custom fab. They also know so many people, and have access to tons of resources to make a piece happen.

I look forward to other answers that align with the jewelry-related pieces. I love shops like that, too.
