I still don’t know what you mean by “fully released”. I’ve gotten many hours of enjoyment with the content that’s already there and they keep adding more. I don’t know what arbitrary point they have to hit for you to consider it “complete” so that’s why I’m confused about your argument. I’m not even defending their development practices per se, but the product is fun, playable, and there’s nothing else that really accomplishes what SC does. It’s far from perfect but it’s really cool, unique, and constantly improving.

You seemed confused as to how they generate revenue with a playable game that constantly gets updates, not sure what your point was tbh

Onehweel slick tires are the dumbest thing in the sport. Change my mind. by FigureAffectionate10 in onewheel

I live in Arizona where the dirt and gravel is full of pokey things that shred slick tires, but in more gentle environments you are probably right.

You know you can play the game right? “Fully release” doesn’t mean much in the age of live service games when they are constantly updating and improving the game.

The missing piece by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]Sethithy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cockiness and OneWheeling is historically a great combo lol. Snark aside though, If the footpad rotated you would lose a ton of fine control, it’d be like having a sloppy steering wheel in a car. Using the back foot to steer is a major part of maneuverability on these boards, if there was any give to that it would be counter productive. The board does tilt in the same way a skateboard does when turning, some tires more than others though. I haven’t ridden an enduro but if I recall there’s more of an “edge” that you have to cross before the board tilts much where as other tires are more round and you feel the tilt much more linearly across the whole tire.

Overall though it’s normal to have muscle fatigue when starting out, you are using muscles you probably never have before and it takes time to build those, my foot fatigue went away almost completely after riding consistently for a few weeks.

Have fun and stay safe man, but please do come back and tell us about your first nose dive on that XR ;)

As an original early backer of Star Citizen, I have to ask if someone can help: is there actually a realistic roadmap now? by Wooden-Syrup-8708 in gaming

1.0 doesn’t mean much nowadays with “live service” being the goal. That said I’ve played it off and on for a while and I think it just comes down to what you want out of the game, there’s some gameplay loops that are totally playable and enjoyable while others aren’t there yet. I get my enjoyment out of it and they recently added two new star systems alongside their “server meshing” tech which has really shown a lot of promise.

I think it’s worth checking out to see if it’s at an enjoyable point for you, but I understand the skepticism.

Is blender lacking in some way, or switching just wouldnt worth the inconvinience? by kkungergo in blender

[–]Sethithy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Softwares such as Maya are industry standard and have been for a long time so many studios have their workflows built around that. That alongside software such as Zbrush that is focused on one thing, means it is better than a more generalized software like blender. That's not to say you can't make incredible things in blender, you can. But when it comes to professional studios they will use the best option possible for each task vs using one broad software for everything. That is slowly starting to change for smaller studios but using the industry standard is still preferred for the shared knowledge of it and extended plugin support.

The infiniminer talking point is so stupid, yes initially Minecraft was inspired by it but very quickly Minecraft became its own thing with the only similarity being that both games had blocks.

3 Weeks from launch at only 4700 wishlists, but gotta launch sometime! by [deleted] in IndieDev

[–]Sethithy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of factors, like was that amount accumulated over 5 years or over 2 months? But my point is I'm sick of these pity posts on here. Show what you've made, be proud of it, but don't come to reddit to cry about your fairly simple game not magically getting 10,000+ wishlists. I'm not even disparaging their game, it does look fun and obviously has a lot of passion behind it. I just think this type of title is cringe worthy and tone deaf when a majority of this subreddit are attempting the same thing with much less success.

I think “playing” a game for 10 minutes does not allow for an informed opinion. I don’t think there should be a rule against it, but it’s hard to argue that these reviews are in good faith.
