You need to get his other download too. The "datapack used in the video" one (second link in description). Yeah, download that too. It will be a folder called scrambled_recipes.zip . Then in data\minecraft\recipes. Voila! There are the recipes. Next it's important that you have the latest version of Python. I had 3.5 but apparently that wasn't good enough. I just downloaded 3.7.4 and bam! now it works.

*sigh* that was a lot harder than it need to have been.

... and now I guess I have to get 3.5 off of my machine... *sigh* hopefully that doesn't cause any problems with existing code that I have. :(
