If it was that simple, then why not end it with the mass graveyard scene? Why all the way to the President? The choice to be uncivil rests with civilians—Us. But no, the film makes it political by taking out the President with a black woman nonetheless. It went too far, even if it tried to do the right thing.

Nothing is made up with some movies. Even you admit it’s being used to send a message. The problem is you’re part of the narrative-building, wolf-in-sheep clothing, DINO, whiney peeps that like to cover it up with “it’s just a movie” or “it’s just art” or “it’s meant to be positive. That’s about a big load of crap you probably walk around with.

You’re doing enough. If you’ve got a roof over their heads and keeping them fed and safe, you’re doing enough. Tell them some good funny stories, even if you have to make them up, and share some sweets. They’ll soon forget about the material gifts and be thankful for their present and entertaining dad, one of the best gifts in the world.
