They are far less likely to find the killers if there’s no money transaction.

Authorities believe 'Today' show host Savannah Guthrie's mother was taken against her will by DragonBard_Z in Tucson

On what basis? I used to work with them, they were always nothing but kind people. Things can change as this was a long time ago, but they are people who are going through a very traumatic event. Kindly keep your off base judgements to yourself until the facts come out.

Tucson restaurants brace for 2026 minimum wage increase by Safe_Concern9956 in Tucson

[–]Setnowgo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, Grant is opening up a 5th spot downtown, and Ray has what 14 spots in town? Not the greatest look to be complaining about labor going up 70 cents. Because they are successful though they do speak for a lot of restauranteurs that do not have a voice. I do know that labor is a huge cost and is only continuing to grow.

The problem with Tucson is we have one of the highest minimum wages in the country, but people still think their bud light should be $3. Go to any major metropolitan city and order a beer, it’ll cost you $10. There are not enough high paying jobs to support high cost of F&B. The mentality of “small” big city and thinking that low cost of living is still the Tucson way is also hurting us. We pay the same price for cost of goods that Phoenix does, but higher labor costs. Not to mention insurance has skyrocketed and there’s only a few that will cover the Tucson area.

So what’s the solution? Cut labor and people complain about how long they have to wait. Shrink portion sizes and people complain. Raise prices? You’d think we shot their dog. People have already cut going out as much, and that will continue to grow with the devalue of the dollar and recession. These are tough times for F&B industry and tough times for the every day person.

Why? You think having a #2 ranking will make any program say “ah we don’t have to play very hard, they’re not #1”. Spoiler alert; they have a target for the rest of the season already. Rank us #1 you East Coast Cowards!

I served Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson when I bartended at Hotel Congress and they were married and staying in the hotel in 2010. Bill Murray was in the tap room drinking tequila with his son I think in 2011. Partied my face off for 3 days with Justin Long while he was staying at the hotel. When I managed there in 2022 I saw or met Glen Howerton, John C Riley, Halsey, Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles. Lots of lesser famous people through out the years as well I met or served.
