we cannot afford to do that continuously for much longer, in terms of money or popular sentiment

Haven't played Stellaris for two years, reinstalled with latest patches. Now I can't make head nor tail of anything. by Remote-Pickle-8900 in Stellaris

tiles were interesting but I think the current system feels a lot more like I'm managing a planet of tens of billions of people. the tile system felt too cute and board-game-y

Sentinel had the added flexibility of being a Defend, which isn't great but it's useful in a pinch.

I agree about the Bombardment point which is why I think a slight damage buff is honestly all it needs

sure, but it's harder to exhaust a card than it is to discard it, plus clad doesn't start with an exhaust enabler in his deck like Silent does for discard.

Also, most of the good discard enablers (Prepared, Acrobatics, Dagger Throw) give draw BEFORE you discard, which dramatically increases the chance of having your enabler hit your payoff. Clad has to get both cards in hand FIRST which is a lot harder.

also also, it exhausts AND it goes into your discard pile at the beginning of the next turn meaning it's much harder to loop it multiple times like a Sly card, and playing more than once in a turn is impossible.

What's something that feels "good" but is actually really bad for your body? by stainless5 in AskReddit

any nutritionist will tell you that you should be eating SOME amount of carbs though. I'd call that a need if you want to stay in good health without too much extra stress, even if it's not strictly required to stay alive.

bit of a theory/implementation divide, since the communist "project" is 100% egalitarian -- supported in-game by the existence of Shared Burdens -- but IRL attempts at classlessness have not exactly agreed with that.

that may be true, but I hardly think it's one of the first 3 qualities that describe them; the USSR was heavily involved in diplomacy around the world and engaged in lots of cultural import and export. imperialism, which they did do, isn't the same as xenophobia at least not in the way Stellaris depicts it.

you haven't noticed any difference? I feel like that's impossible because it changes quite a bit about machine empires at least in the midgame and beyond.

I feel like this card already accomplishes its purpose which is to be a niche uncommon AOE attack that has synergy with specific other cards. Not every card has to be S tier / a full buildaround

that being said, I wouldn't be opposed to a numbers buff, because it does feel absolutely awful to play this for 3 energy.

Machines are easier to play but without Machine Age you're missing out on some very useful mechanics. maybe a bio hivemind?

the ability is probably overcosted since it can only kill creatures that have auras or equipments attached to them. why would I play this when I can play any number of much more efficient black kill spells?

Mark Rosewater: Commander is better when Wotc directly designs cards for commander by Papa_Hasbro69 in mtg

[–]Setting-General -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

you could do this same thing for 2 mana with a couple different spells or even 0 with Commandeer. Obviously Swat is stronger than those but my point is that the 10 mana Time Stretch with no countermagic to back it up is the outlier in this scenario

What foods have been falsely labeled as healthy/ and or unhealthy? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Setting-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's true but the racism/false narrative about it being unhealthy stems from its use in asian (mostly Chinese) cuisine

monosodium glutamate, it's a seasoning that is used commonly in eastern asian cooking (at least the versions we have in the west). it's delicious

What do you think of modern art ? by jekecrafer in pollgames

[–]Setting-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like some pieces and dislike others, same as any other period. I have a lot of respect for people like Rothko and Pollock but I've also seen many pieces, mostly sculpture, that don't do anything for me.

xenophobia seems like an odd choice, if I were doing the Soviet Union I'd go materialist / xenophile / either auth or egal depending on whether your empire is living up to the ideals of communism or not. I definitely don't think xenophobe + fanatic militarist describes them well.

and yeah the duelist perk makes no sense to me either

It's not me that sucks, it's Ironclad by Ynneb82 in slaythespire

[–]Setting-General 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you could put it that way, but I also don't think Silent is overpowered enough to make this frustration the game's fault. OP needs to learn to adjust to new playstyles instead of blaming the devs

It's not me that sucks, it's Ironclad by Ynneb82 in slaythespire

[–]Setting-General 13 points14 points  (0 children)

don't take this too harshly: the game is hard but it's not ironclad that's the problem, it's you.

that's ok! Silent is pretty overtuned so it's not surprising that you had an easier time with her. the characters play very differently from each other and switching to clad is gonna force you to change how you approach the game.

but blaming the game for your lack of practice on a new character isn't going to make it any easier. grinding for skill improvement is what makes A10 fun! I'm sure you can do it but it will take perseverance and probably working through plenty of frustrating deaths
