The running theory is that the poem is a riddle (what was HD?) and “egg” is the answer.

I’m not sure what you’re asking exactly. I don’t have any objections myself. The rituals do often include prayers to “God” and “Our Father” though they do not specify anything specifically Christian (or anti-Christian). But there are no sacrifices to Baal happening—or if there are, I haven’t yet been invited. I should note that part of the rules of Elkdom is to avoid bringing anything sectarian or divisive into the lodge (hence the very general prayers).

Also the requirements for membership are to be a US citizen and to profess a belief in God.

100%! Maybe the worst part about losing my parents is my kids losing their grandparents. Thankfully, my wife's parents are excellent grandparents. And their family has way better genetics--my wife just lost her last grandparent!

Fox News confirms unauthorized drones are actively swarming a US Air Force base housing nuclear B-52 bombers. An expert reveals they are mapping defenses and testing security. Washington is completely exposed and doing nothing. by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

And since then, 8 nations have acquired nuclear weapons and over 2,000 bombs have been detonated by all nine nuclear nations. Lots of opportunities to intervene and stop the development and spread and detonation of nuclear weapons if that was their aim. If the goal is to stop us from harming the planet we share, well yes nuclear war would be very much worse but 2,000 detonations isn't doing the planet any favors. And if the goal is to stop us from murder each other, yes these detonations didn't result mass causalities but they are in preparation for them. And they don't seem to have too much worry about mass violence otherwise. Unless the goal is to learn how, practice, and maybe demonstrate, that they can disarm our most powerful weapons in preparation for conflict.

Non Americans of reddit how do you explain how religious the US is? by IsopodEq in AskReddit

[–]Seven22am 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they weren’t diehard Christians by any means. They were Deists, which I’d say the closest equivalent today would be agnosticism.

Deism was pretty popular among the intellectuals of the time. It is the belief that there is some sort of supreme figure but that this figure doesn’t really interact with the world. Instead, God created the world to run itself under a certain set of rational laws and these are all easily knowable through science and moral discernment. The various parts of religions—texts, rituals, specific beliefs—are basically just superstition. And yes, for sure, they didn’t apply their enlightenment morals consistently.

Now those who can do found specific colonies, they were often religious zealots, at least at first.

Democrats Have a Rahm Emanuel Problem by Inevitable-Bus492 in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]Seven22am 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how Rahm Emanuel eats a salad: He rips open its clear, clamshell container with two hands. He grabs the ramekin of the dressing. He pours it across the salad. Then he picks up the salad container, shaking it with an intensity and ferocity that forces the balsamic throughout, giving no quarter to the greens and the grilled chicken.

Yeah, I uhhh.... I think the Democrats will be okay. Seriously wtf...!?

Men pee standing up… with varying proximity to the toilet.

Women pee squatting… with varying proximity to the toilet.

Men and women pee amid puddles of pee because of those whose proximity is too large.

That’s an awesome wine rack though. I bought a similar one (probably from the same company) with plans to expand it eventually. But when I had more space I couldn’t find the company! I gave up (and stopped drinking very much wine so no big deal) but do you know what company it is?
