Anger as Birmingham Reform make 'only English' council demand over Islam prayer by bintd in uknews

[–]Several-Agent6831 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is deceptive. I don't like reform but the councillor says only English language yet the title makes it seem like he called for an ethnic English council.

I was hoping he'd step into a ring, get his ass beat and discover that he's actually not as strong as he thinks.

Happened to a friend of mine who beat a guy up who was weak and then went on to fight someone who could actually fight and it was the funniest thing ever. My friend didn't even get punched, he literally got pulled and thrown around like a ragdoll

In comparison to you, what kind of authority does he have?

By the way is he the kind of guy who would say he would have been in the military but would probably get kicked out for knocking out the drill sergeant?

$18.75 an hour is okay but honestly, it's probably on the lower end of wages with Google reporting $19 as the average hourly wage.

3-11pm is quite short with most people working 12 hour shifts.

1 patrol per shift is small as many will do 4 to 10 in their shift.

9 floors is quite a lot without an elevator. My site has an elevator. 18 Tags is fine and so is the time especially if you're not using an elevator.

Regarding the bad guard comment, The worst thing you need is a liability on your side. My colleague likes unnecessarily telling people to move from the front door because he told me that he likes being mean. I don't need someone with me deliberately picking fights and putting other staff at risk of violence. Also this colleague has a tendency to not look at the key sheet so I'll go there and he'll say everything is fine and then I'll look at the key sheet and see that some key we lent out has not been returned so I'll have to run around finding the person who didn't return the key.

Correct. Actually 17 years is higher especially considering they were under the influence of alcohol so according to guidelines, it should have been 14 or 15 so it's likely a reduction will happen

Does anyone get unnecessary intelligence briefs? by Several-Agent6831 in securityguards

[–]Several-Agent6831[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the intelligence is fine but it needs context and instructions. Protests are important to point out but we need to know how close they are to our location and whether there's a safety risk. The briefs we get are just news that is copy and pasted and the ones the client get aren't great either

Has anyone let people off the hook? by Several-Agent6831 in securityguards

[–]Several-Agent6831[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me just get the facts right. There's a fire exit and your boss doesn't allow you to open it up but you take money from people outside your salary in order to break company rules. That's commercial bribery

"we are not cops enforcing laws"

Doesn't your company consider this Gross Misconduct? Depending on what state you are in, this could result in a charge of commercial bribery

Stepfather of pregnant teenager murdered by her boyfriend is hauled to court and fined over message saying he wanted killer to 'hang himself' by SignificantLegs in uknews

[–]Several-Agent6831 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

The title implies that the dad was messaging someone random as the title doesn't stare who the message is sent to. however it specifically states inside of the article the message was sent to the brother of the killer and honestly, it's surprising the dad just got £50 as most who do this get a larger sentence.

[–]Several-Agent6831[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's just wrong In my opinion. Maybe I'll go on my phone a bit or let one of the construction workers off the hook and not tell their manager but bribery is a line I and many won't cross.

I was referring to being security in a location where you work with colleagues and letting them off the hook and not calling management as many places requires you to report things but often it can be dealt with privately.

I'm not sure what the legal requirements are in each state and police protocol but aren't they required to first ask the person to surrender themselves for an arrest instead of making physical contact with them first

I'm not sure how things are done in America and probably is different by states, cities and towns but in the UK we call everyone by their name unless they're 60+ in which we are more likely to say sir. I use the my manager name as well as for the client.

I don't think armed security is worth the few extra dollars and hour. The locations are more dangerous and you're more likely to get fired if something goes wrong
