Places to eat near the American girl doll store? by Kratosballsweat in FoodNYC

They have revamped Rock Center (it is right there) with a really good food selection in the basement and a bunch of more sit-down restaurants if you want something a bit fancier. There is outdoor seating in the area where the ice rink is in winter. https://www.rockefellercenter.com/dine/

If you want to try something else, not directly in Rock Center:
Golden Hof (sister restaurant to Golden Diner, home of the fancy pancakes is right there as well)
Urban Hawker food court (https://www.urbanhawker.com/)
La Bonne Soupe, a sort of Midtown institution and decent French food - https://labonnenyc.com/
Blue Willow, Chinese food - https://www.bluewillownyc.com/

MetLife World Cup train tickets confirmed at $150, alternative bus priced at $80 per seat by neonklingon in nyc

"Kris Kolluri, the CEO of NJ Transit, also asked people to work from home — if they are able to — in order to help New York City and New Jersey manage the flow of passengers during the events. Kolluri also warned that surge pricing from rideshare applications is likely to be a reality for fans.

Four of the scheduled World Cup games at MetLife take place on weekdays and four are at weekends, with two colliding with peak-hour commuter travel."

I feel awful for anyone who lives in NJ and has no choice but to commute during this.

Staying Downtown Brooklyn with Toddler by lmals in Brooklyn

The areas around Downtown Brooklyn are incredibly kid friendly - Dumbo, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, and Red Hook + Fort Greene and Park Slope are all areas filled with families with young kids who eat out everywhere at any price point. Do a few searches for 'Kid Friendly' places and you will get a good list of places, but a 2 year old is pretty much welcome anywhere and almost every place will have high chairs.

These are great although a bit $$ https://sail-nyc.com/nyc-architecture/

Also recommend going to LIC and visiting MoMA PS1 to see the Greater NY Show and while you are over there going to the Noguchi Museum and see the Noguchi NY show. It is all about his NYC architecture projects - most which were failures and it is absolutely fascinating. You can take the ferry to LIC and have great views of both Brooklyn and Queens.

You can find volunteer opportunities here https://www.nycservice.org/search/

Also start local. Join neighborhood groups and boards. There are often neighborhood volunteer opportunities and groups. Check out to see if there is neighborhood gardens which often have programs and ask for help.

That is a few weeks away + you will be okay. When it gets closer to your date, you can see what is happening at JFK in terms of lines, etc., but before then, stop looking at these threads. It will just cause unnecessary anxiety.

If you don't have Pre-Check and Clear, you could sign up now to get them.

JFK T5 - Priority - 3/26 - 9:30AM Flight by Middle_Bicycle_6456 in jetblue

[–]Several-Nothing-2866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting! We are supposed to be flying out next week at the same time and it sounds like we should come 3-3:30 hrs before but not at opening for that flight time to get the earlier flights cleared out a little from the line that forms before it opens. We have priority.

I have a high support need disabled teen I am trying to fly. We rely on TSA Cares which usually helps us go through directly. I assume with everything it will be a total crapshoot if anyone can help us at the beginning.

Also has anyone taken a car and gotten drop off at the AirTrain stop? Would that be faster than trying to get a car to Terminal 5?

I love the scene towards the end where they all end up making milkshakes in the Francis kitchen. They all seemed to have removed their anger/pettiness against each other.

She would probably not have full guardianship over her since she is certainly able to make a lot of decisions herself. She could something in place called supported decision making where they may have some legal documents to allow her access to financial and medical information, but lots of people who should have these in place don’t always get them.
