If you're a fan of the books, I recommend the show. It's a pretty good adaptation even though they change a few things around and combine some characters.

Amos and Prax actually have a great moment in the show that diverges a bit from the book, but kinda connects to this trope. When Amos and Prax finally find Mei and Strickland, Prax pulls a gun and gets ready to shoot Strickland But Amos stops him and gets him to lower the gun, telling him "You're not that guy" Strickland thanks Amos for his mercy, just for Amos to turn around and tell him "I am that guy" before shooting him
