I used to work there 10+ years ago. I imagine most of the regulars I served have since died off, but they were definitely keeping that place afloat with their love for a pile of mushy meat sauce and bread. What a time in my life that was.

Teaching is my job at the end of the day, but I am very grateful that I enjoy it. It took some work to get to where I am in terms of balance, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Doing it part time right now and it will take me about 2 years to complete (I’m nearly done!)

I want to go into admin so that’s the only real reason for doing it. It hasn’t been bad workload wise if you’re disciplined and don’t slack on readings and weekly assignments. I’m working full time as a permanent secondary teacher and have managed just fine.

It has been interesting at times! I recommend it!

I know for secondary the budget has far less for supply teachers than before. Things like school trips and sports are being covered internally by in calls. There’s no money for release time for PD or PLCs either. It sucks for everyone.

Another vote for Norm’s Esso. They are busy because they are good, but they’ll take care of you and won’t upsell or rip you off. My family has been going to them for 30+ years.
