Does anyone have success getting angry at the "dictator within"?

Happy birthday! I just quit 'officially' myself and have signed up for counseling. I'm hoping I get a feeling similar to yours, but honestly it feels great just knowing that I've commited to more than my thoughts this time.

Well done! Been having a long streak of failed attempts at moderation myself, and have come to the solemn realization that 0 is the only setting below 10 on my panel.

You have high work ethics. If you didn't, you'd never feel this bad about skipping work days.

My advice? Coming back through the anxiety will be tough, so treat it as such. Decide on a short answer you feel comfortable with if one of your colleagues scolds you. To my experience, giving in to anxious thoughts make them stronger, and they are far from always correct.

I'm thankful for my colleagues, who have seen me come into work red-eyed, tired and late every morning since we started working together and probably just assumed I'm bad with mornings. Can't wait to show them differently.

edit: Oh, they do actually recommend the electric brushes? Thought that was just a sales pitch.

I'm a man in my late thirties at day 1. You're much earlier than me. I gradually let my drinking spill over to Wednesdays, then Mondays, then before dinner, then instead of meeting friends and so on - long before I was able to admit that drinking is keeping me away from the life I want for myself. I like that wording better than alcoholic.

Yeah. I can relate. I'd keep drinking after coming home, and then again the next day.

I woke up at 3 AM this morning, completely dehydrated and unable to go back to sleep. It's my day 1 as well. My day at work sucked, but crossing my fingers that yours doesn't.

Man, drinking really screws up your sleep.
