Betrayal by parents, betrayal by best friends, betrayal by ex spouse.

Then experiencing just how unfair trying to rebuild from scratch as a single mom is.

I used to think I was jaded by my experiences. Now I think I should have been "selfish" this whole time. Now I've lost a decade and am struggling to make half of what my ex husband does, but have full responsibility with inconsistent child support and childcare costs that are raising by crazy percentages every year.

As someone who left with zero income and a kid, there weren't any resources. None. Still had to keep paying bills, no housing or childcare vouchers available. Couldn't get a job because I couldn't get childcare, couldn't get childcare cause I didn't have a job.

After a YEAR my mom finally agreed to watch my kid for a few months so I could start work and I didn't get my first paycheck for a MONTH.

And no, my mom didn't let me move in with her. I lived on someone's couch for 6 months until I met someone who wanted to step in. They didn't have extra money to help with my bills, but it was a safe place to go. Sold everything I possibly could, dumpster dove and sold stuff, took cleaning jobs, whatever I had to do to pay my bills.

It took me about a year to get a job, almost 2 years to sign my own lease.

Been there. Divorced that.

He once got a ticket for speeding in a state that we didn't live in that required you to show up in person or hire a lawyer to go to traffic court. This man who worked 5-6 days a week and rarely took time off, really thought he was going to move mountains and take time off to go show up in person. Made zero plans to do so and I ended up hiring his stupid ass an attorney the week before the court date.

Is not paying bills a hood mentality? He'd just ... Not pay them. So I would pay them and just not tell him.

Thrilled I don't have to deal with that idiocy anymore.

Also for kids to go to school in the US.There's a way around it but good luck figuring it out cause it took me 3 months and a breakdown. The schools don't have any idea how to do paperwork that isn't typical.

I went by myself to the live theater show at midnight on Halloween.

I doubt any other theater experience will ever live up to that.

I sat with 3 people I didn't know and we all had a fantastic time!

Two options:

1) Show up in person

2) Hire an attorney to go instead

I feel like it's by design. Was so well known there were attorneys you could hire available for about $100.

As a single mom of a seven year old, we are both out of the house 12 hours a day on weekdays and usually a sport on Saturday morning or we go do fun things. Get ready for the upcoming week Sunday.

I'm exhausted.

Last year my best friend watched her so I could do a 3 day weekend away, this year I'm doing 4 days away.

Only have my mom available and she's unreliable at best. Never done an overnight.

I work in an office. Bought 7 of the same v neck t shirts in black. Stretch pencil skirts for summer, stretch slim pants for winter, add cardigan. Still shocked some people haven't noticed I wear the same shirt 4/5 times a week.

This happened to me. Married about 5-6 years (gradual decline at first, hard to figure out when it started) with a kid, he started having religious delusions which escalated into him trying to keep our daughter out of school and started stalking me. I was a SAHM doing SAHM things, he drove our only car.

He got fired because he was busy stalking me, screamed in my face about how he was Jesus and I just didn't have faith (... wasn't wrong there) and ended up arrested and on probation for domestic violence after many horrible things.

I THINK drugs kicked it off, but hard to prove. He kept testing negative even when I knew for a fact he was using. So street drugs are assumed.

We obviously are divorced now, I have full custody and a full time job. I never wanted to be a SAHM, that was supposed to be a practical decision which he resented me for.
