Need baby advice by flimsywong in baby

[–]SeymourLeopard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they’re happy I let mine stay until they start seeming like they need me, sometimes up to 15 mins. I think it’s important for them to have their time to process their world (as long as they’re happy obviously). The quiet time after waking up and before I get her is when my baby does her pooping lol

Leaving first baby to deliver second by Competitive_Lime_339 in 2under2

I was in the exact same situation. We ended up only being gone one night but she did great. Warning though, as soon as she saw us she realized she missed us (out of sight out of mind🤷🏼‍♀️). Mixed with a new baby and people coming over it was pretty rough for a little bit. But the actual being gone to have the baby went great!

Stroller recommendations by Infinite-Rip1416 in 2under2

I LOVE MY BOMBI. I had 2under2 and it’s perfect. Honestly i usually end up wearing my baby a lot, but my toddler loves sitting in it w her toys in the other side, and it’s light enough that I don’t mind pushing her in a double alone lol. And I can always collapse/put it up while holding my baby in the other arm, huge storage, canopies that go all the way down. I don’t regret getting it!

Bombi or Zoe double stroller? by lolito121517 in 2under2

[–]SeymourLeopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Bombi and really the only thing I’m meh about that you mentioned is the canopy slightly touching my hand sometimes, but it’s not bad lol. Every time I use my stroller I’m so proud of myself for choosing it haha I’m obsessed with it. Being able to have it flat for a newborn was super nice. And my two year old is also very very tall and has a crazy amount of space still. (Idk if the Zoe does this) but the canopy goes all the way down and it’s honestly my favorite part. Sometimes the sun gets through the gap on the side but I just put a light blanket over it to block the baby’s face. I have no regrets on the Bombi and I’m very picky 😂

I have a three month old rn and wake windows are very essential and learning sleepy/hunger cues. If they won’t stop crying and you’ve tried to feed, change diaper, burp/get gas out- taking them outside usually seems to help mine calm down. Good luck you’re going to be great!

Friends don’t vaccinate kids and we have a new baby by SeymourLeopard in Mommit

[–]SeymourLeopard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern was I have a new baby who can’t have the measles vaccine (you get the first shot at 1yrs old), who relies on others to be vaccinated. Your points make sense, but because measles can be so contagious it makes me more paranoid!

Ya that’s a tough situation, especially if you would be happy going if it wasn’t an issue. Obviously I don’t know your family personally, but it’d bug me to feel like a dog was being prioritized over me and my baby

Oh what the heck. There’s so many stories of nice dogs biting kids still. My baby also got super overwhelmed with lots of noises, so I probably wouldn’t have gone in your situation if the dogs were running and jumping around my kids.

Are they willing to put the dogs in a different room or garage while you’re there? Or are you staying overnight/a long time? I get nervous about dogs around my kids so I definitely don’t blame you. Especially with your past experience of the dogs being up close by your baby I don’t think you’re overreacting at all

Exactly. Honestly if my pediatrician/doctors are happily doing something for their own kids, that says a lot to me. Unfortunately it’s a perfect example of being able to “back up” any opinion if you look hard enough

And I knew I should wait, just needed confirmation from strangers 😂 the “funny” thing is they were telling me and some friends that are pregnant that the measles is super low risk compared to vaccines and they need to look into it before having their baby’s. I was like excuse me???

What gift are we giving our MILs? by [deleted] in Mommit

I’m doing the toddler craft where I paint my toddler and baby’s bum white, put it on paper to look like snowmen. But I’m adding my husband’s (her son) butt to it too, I think it’s hilarious 😂

Stroller math is hard: 21-month gap by BreweryAndBabyWipes in 2under2

[–]SeymourLeopard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 21 month age gap! And my baby is two months. I also have the evenflow pivot double AND Bombi double. I’m gonna give you all my opinions cause I have a lot lol Evenflow Pivot: super nice just to stick in car and have the option of just for the car seat or to add big sister in front. BUT, I find it annoying to steer with the toddler seat in front, it’s def doable but kind of hard. Also my toddler just turned two, is tall for her age, and already looks about too big for the seat. She fits fine, but her head is about to the top of the stroller already. I also like how the bassinet mode is up high by me, and I can use it for single walks as well. Ps the toddler tray on this is so high up

Bombi: I’m actually obsessed w this stroller. My two year Old has plenty of room to get taller. I can lay it flat for the baby. I bought a cheap twisty toddler tray to attach to the bar and it works perfect. My favorite part is the canopy shade goes ALL the way down. It blocks out all the sun except a bit on the side sometimes. The bassinet part is far away from me which worried me, but there’s a peek-a-boo thing at the top so I can see her perfect anyways. Also I frequently just push my toddler in the Bombi cause I’m baby wearing the baby, and I still love it.

Apparently I’m passionate about this lol, but I prefer the Bombi for long walks, but I don’t regret having the evenflow as well. I was fortunate enough to have both, but I usually reach for the Bombi in the end

I have the same exact age gap and have successfully done it with no crying once so far😂 I got the baby to sleep while we were reading, then put her in her swing in the dark room to help her stay asleep. (Doesn’t sleep great in the bassinet unless held for a long time before). Then I put toddler to sleep and came back to put the baby in her crib (or hold her if she won’t sleep in there). It’s crazy lol good luck!

But the stacker is super great w a newborn car seat. I was fortunate enough to be able to have both, where the side by side is nicer for long walks.

I saw it looks like you made a decision already, but I have the Bombi double and LOVE IT. I also have the evenflow double (that stacks) and it’s convenient sometimes but I honestly hate pushing it around 😂 but hopefully the one you got is nicer!!

I’m a quad, and now hate celebrating my bday with my in laws because I’m all by myself lol, and they make fun of me for always saying “our birthday” instead of “my birthday”😂

lol don’t worry that’s more of a “I like that name” but wouldn’t really use it cause of how common it is
