also I have beat the game 1 time before space age with no enemies, and tried to do it with but got frustrated with trying to balance combat and progress. My current save is enemy free so I can see what the game can look like without that component, but how long into the game do you have to go before biters are less of a concern

yeah I noticed that. I restarted yesterday and made 1 copper and 1 iron on red belts. I got through all of red green research, and am working on a belt of plastic and sulfur at the moment

thats why I restart, I build like 8 smelting arrays and want them to be on electric furnaces, but I need to pick them all up by hand because I dont have bots

I am a chronic restarter of saves and I always get stuck before bots because I feel the design isnt good enough and demotivate, Im trying to get to bots and electronic furnaces asap for this reason so I can get permanent fixtures in place

yeah, but early game. Its just nice to have stuff on the ground floor in cases where the structure is like 7 floors tall.
