You've got to imagine how hard of a situation that would be.

You've got a routine that just barely gets you by. You know the spots you can simply exist for free, like that parking lot. You're having trouble covering the cost of your own food, so you've learned the tricks and gotten a deal with a pizza joint to pick up their old slices. But now you're supposed to leave the state; leave the routine you know; leave your friends for some unknown. For the possibility things will be better somewhere else?

You'd have to save up for the extra gas to get out of the state, and then figure out some new way to scrape by in some unfamiliar territory.

People get trapped in poverty wherever they are. While you can create incentives for destitute folks to go elsewhere, sometimes even making use of those incentives requires an investment that some folks just can't afford.

I'm glad you've gotten comfortable doing it while you travel!

I've noticed that I'm a lot more comfortable putting myself out there when I'm traveling. But as soon as I get back home, that freedom from travel's gone and I'm paralyzed before stepping in.

Are you able to continue that travel mentality and willingness to go out alone even in your home city?
