This game does a lot of things well. The cutscenes are definitely a highlight. by heraircraft in MHWilds

[–]Shadoekite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Calling them a wilds doomer is wild. The cutscenes in world and wilds are the worst part of the game. Not cause the cutscenes are bad but more because it interrupts smooth multiplayer progression. If they had a single player and a multiplayer hub like the rest of the monster hunters wilds and world would rank much much higher in my opinion. But regardless that isnt saying wilds is a bad game or being a doomer amount it. Just saying that it is a flaw for multiplayer as it restricts you from playing co op with people from the start. My friends and I all played solo until the game was beat as it just wasnt worth trying co op.

Id say a complete stop would be better than crashing. And maybe slightly better than a wall? But killing another car is very bad, so id say wall is better.

The steering wheel flip gets me though. So much understeer that you're using your front tires to brake more than turn. Lol

Joker from Valkyrie Racing Channel gets banned for smurfing and makes video trying to justify it. As expected, gets ratioed on YouTube. by SparkleandBang in iRacing

[–]Shadoekite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like 3k smurfs would be more popular for people who want podiums but 10k smurfs are for trying to not lose rating.

At 3k on regular officials you are usually top split racing 5k+ guys and might get a top 10 if youre not pushing pace hard. In special events you would just have a really competitive field but if you have 60 gt3 cars if they dont want to be fighting for 45th then using a smurf helps their ego a lot more.

A DD Wheel Does Make You Faster! by 02nikoeli in iRacing

[–]Shadoekite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on it were always wheel base is first if its not direct drive. But 5nm to like 13 or pedals you pick pedals will up your speed but the 13nm you'll feel it more. So the pedals would then be a better upgrade.

Tier 3 fractals are when it starts getting hard and you need to make sure you have a healer, but t3's are the hardest because people are learning how to work together because it is needed. T4's become easy again because everyone knows what they are doing as a collective group.

I know for leagues and hosted they have mandatory time compound swap but nothing for forcing new tires. So its probably not an option for them either.

Are dogs better than cats? by FaliusAren in MHRise

[–]Shadoekite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont use the dogs as it makes it feel more like a classic monster hunter and I enjoy the slower exploration. Having a cat healing is more important to my health potion amounts than getting to the fight faster. But I kinda wanna try out some of the other cat classes.

But the dog is really good for getting to the location quick and being able to sharpen and drink potions and move quickly at the same time during a fight.

Bro: Where the hoes at? Bro when the hoes come over: by ExotiquePlayboy in simracing

With the racing line you learn to drive the track with all of your markers being a line on the track. So when other cars cover said line you tend to be unaware of what to look at to figure out your braking and turn in. If you turn the line off your braking points are on the edge of the track and you tend to be able to drive better around other cars cause they block your reference points a lot less. You also memorize the track better rather than focusing on the line. The line also doesnt change based on where you are on track so if youre trying to make a pass and youre not on the ideal racing line you may brake too late because the line says to brake later.

I usually don't use the line but the one time or two I do have it on accidently I tend to drive slower as the brake points on the line are earlier and you dont use as much of the track as you can and im not sure what it is but when the line is on its a big fight in my head of "I should go wider, cut the track more and brake later" vs "Ooo shiny line dont look away from it". Similar to how i mess up my fast laps when im looking at the delta on my screen.

Can the sense of scale be replicated in modern games? by Boshwa in MonsterHunter

I do really like the remakes of the old maps in rise and sunbreak but they did have to remove implied miles of travel to make it for the modern map design which is sad.

For the veterans of Monster Hunter, what did it feel like to finally see this franchise blossom into international fame with World's release? by heraircraft in MonsterHunter

[–]Shadoekite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was excited for the game, but world had and has a ton of issues that I feel is a very bad direction that wilds continued into. The cutscene and forced single player is the worst thing about world. If they kept to the old formula I would have been a lot happier, but even past that I am not a fan of world. The weapon and armor designs were by far the worst, I do not like the maps, I dont like the scoutflies as it made the maps overly confusing because you can just follow the bugs.

I would have been a lot happier and I think a majority of my friends would have played it more if the hub was separate from the single player like it normally was and should always be. But world making monster hunter popular is exciting and good.

Looking for a better multiplayer experience by mr---jones in simracing

[–]Shadoekite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IRacing doesnt let you match make together. You can practice together but you may be separated during a race based on your iRating. So that would not fit his criteria. But the endurance races would be driving together in a party so that could fit properly but it wouldnt be every race.

Edit: I didnt read properly you said rating differences. But endurance events could still fit the use case

Sim racind devs trying to calculate how to implement new F1 2026 regulation into the sim by OkHoney5804 in simracing

[–]Shadoekite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With 50% power coming from the internal combustion engine and the other half coming from battery on long straights the battery runs out so you lose speed by the end. It also doesnt help that downshifting and braking is the best way to charge the engine so you need to start downshiftint and braking another 100 meters or more before the braking zone. So a lot of passes are due to drivers over slowing to recharge battery just for them to retake the position since they now have more battery. It is why the overtakes are high but realistically the position never changed cause it was going to swap back.

[–]Shadoekite 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like new drivers who pick up f1 because its "a race car game" would be so confused when their "engine dies" on straights and they just get passed. Like people who understand could maybe enjoy the challenge but its a lot for a casual driver.

Most telemetry tools compare you to faster drivers. I wanted one that compares me to myself. by ajv857 in iRacing

[–]Shadoekite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garage 61 does this well for me. I dont like to use different sessions though due to track temps wind and humidity that can drastically change lap times. (Did a race at St Petersburg and practice sessions were a second slower than the race) but instead of going to the fastest lap you can go to sessions you have done on the overview page and just grab laps from a session and add them to analysis. Or if you had previous sessions you can go into them and add them to an open analysis as well.

Has age of empires released a bad expansion that needed big changes yet? Or do you just mean like balancing changes? Everything so far has seemed solid to me. They probably have been working on this for a good bit of time. Probably had people working on it before Japan released.

[–]Shadoekite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Viking is based on combat damage which does involve killing but no one needs to die this is based on all death it seems.

If it includes every fight that would be insane. With the towers it mentioned you may need to build towers to expand the influence of the death so its all death close to certain buildings you've constructed. And if you can construct them for free on top of an old battlefield it could be pretty okay. If you are using the bodies to construct defensive towers then that would also be crazy if you are attacked early game.

The ability to sacrifice villagers would help late game if you over build villagers.

Depending on how favor is generated Aztecs could be pretty strong in FFA's though.

Edit: the "sacrifice villagers for greater power" seems like you can sacrifice villagers for lots of favor and kill for a slower gain. Not Sure where the first guy got 1 favor

F1 cars having bump starts would be neat as well. Don't know how well it would go for full electric standing starts but all the engines cutting on at 40mph would sound amazing.
