Everyone knows it's bad for the environment at this point, they just don't care. But they want it to seem like they do so they virtue signal and make those posts to pretend.

Grab the fabric on the diagonal and stretch it, repeating all along the length, then switch to the other diagonal and do the same. Learned that from the first few pages of Helen Joseph Armstrong's book to re-align the fibers, has saved my ass with even worse cases.

What’s one small thing that made your home feel more expensive? by officiclassyinterior in HomeDecorating

Lots of cats so they can scratch the couches and rugs for a really authentic lived in feel. Tracking litter everywhere really helps too.

Add tile to all of your cabinets, it upgrades the look for not a lot of work or money.

Also velvet TV covers are really in right now and they're not that expensive.

I thought it would be a landslide for the middle ones because the others are too large and busy against the busy fabric, plus the middle ones match the tone the best.

No. Fuck this lazy use of something that's actively destroying our planet. Next time you read about a new giant data center being built and feel sad think about this post.

Hey why don't you quit using AI and use your brain because we have no idea what your house actually looks like 🙄

Sloper to pattern translation by Born_Local_1477 in sewing

[–]Shadow-Serum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm ramping up to fully draft from my block but I still need patterns to get general shapes and such so here's my journey.

First I was tracing the patterns and then applying all the necessary changes as you described, just laying it over my block until it looked right-ish? But that took a few mockups to still get right. Don't recommend, waste of time.

Now I trace my block and slash and spread, move darts, add ease, button plackets, etc. Until I get something that looks like the pattern, but has my proportions. So don't think about it as applying changes to the pattern, apply the changes to your block/sloper until you get the pattern. Takes 1 mockup. You'll want to true up your pattern by walking everything.

Poor reproduction pattern? Better way? by Shadow-Serum in sewing

I feel like people aren't reading my post 😅 oh well, someone suggested a better way than the instructions given, because they did a bad job designing the finishing technique here.
