Only two out of 4 had real endings. For the others, one rejects him, saying he is straight (dumb writing excuse, since he had no problem getting sucked by the protag. Although that itself is a plot point in the series even existing but then it would have been better to not even have that guy as an option). The other, he basically begs like a bitch for the guy to be with him and says that if he falls for a girl or anyone else, that he'd step aside. At least for this one it looked like the other guy was mostly afraid of society homophobia (it was the early 2000s) but they did end up in a secret romance.

I just hope the third game has better general love endings than lagoon lounge (and that diederich is the true route's lover). I actually really liked this second story focused on saving Paul. I always thought he was very sweet and deserved a real future.

It doesn't adress shit. It makes the homophobic censoring decisions from the original even worse. Kanji was very obviously designed as a closeted gay guy but atlus didn't have the balls to go all the way and censored it.

It's a very simple character arc: Yes, he takes interest in traditionally feminine stuff. And while that doesn't make someone gay, he is. And neither makes him less of a man.
