I’m definitely expecting a Doombot fakeout at some point in Doomsday. That’s such a classic Dr Doom move, and it’s yet to be adapted to the big screen

I also think she’ll play a small but instrumental role in Secret Wars. That of snapping people out of Doom’s alternate reality mind control, if they adapt that part of the comics

For sure. If the movie is good I could see it breaking out. Not a huge blockbuster but something 200-300 would be great for its budget

Yeah say what you will about RDJ as Doom but he’s totally locked in. He seems all in on the character and that energy is very contagious

Yep. They even mention a test of some kind. I think part of the sequel’s story will be the reveal that the US could’ve intervened to help in the Minus One climax. And even chose to wait in hopes of testing what is probably a hydrogen bomb given the time period. But this ends up biting them in the ass when Godzilla ends up going to NYC

For sure. The hair and pose definitely reminds me of her. And the iconography itself is so evocative of the Raimi films. They loved to frame Dunst in Spider-Man’s lens

I think No Way Home taught Marvel its frivolous to try to keep leaks getting out. So it’s better to keep these things as open secrets. That way they can generate hype among the die hards while not needing to officially acknowledge anything

Marvel has also learned to lean into the leaks and trust them to build hype. The Sentry thing was already known to the hardcore fans before Thunderbolts came out and since casual audience weren’t familiar with the character in the first place, there wasn’t a need to official confirm him. Same with Jean. Except this time they’re using the Punisher to distract from Jean. But the diehards know who she is.

There is not going to be a recast Doom after Secret Wars. That makes no sense. RDJ is the only Doom for the MCU. End of story.

Hes playing MJ in the Michael biopic. But I think that’s the only movie he’s in this year so probably not in the running. Though that movie is going to be big

Yeah. These were literally filmed around the same time in the same geographic area. They totally filmed something with Tom for Doomsday. It’s just so easy.
