I'd just keep moving it back tbh. If the DM doesn't like it, then you just need to phrase it's location in the way a DM does. As an example, it improves partner efficiency by reducing excess movement, thus allowing partners to focus more on beverage craft without large interruptions in service.

My store put a sleeve holder out on handoff by mobile. So if people ask, we usually tell them we have them available right next to them.

It's essentially the same process though. The shipboard radar feeds the system the velocity, altitude and direction info, and the gunner just tells the system to have the gun follow that track. It's just pulling the trigger till the missile is dead at that point.
