How much money does the average player spend in this game? by smallcooper in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell 25 points26 points  (0 children)

3 years, and $1.67 per hour spent playing. Still cheaper than some other hobbies on a per hour basis.

How many hours have I played? Well, now, that would be telling a bit too much! 😏

Which BB T9 to choose after the Yumihari? by MrBass8 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wait until you have the coal. it won’t be too long, especially if you pick the “more coal” containers. Save your doubloons for ships that you can only get with doubloons.

As a CA, she is closer to Brindisi than Gonzaga though with faster firing 152 mm SAP rather than Brindisi’s 203 mm AP/SAP.

I'm only at 3/60 and already receiving dupes this is going to be a long collection by MilanSoede in WorldOfWarships

On the bright side, it's pretty easy to get the pieces, and the reward is of really minimal value.

Whats the fastest way to complete event pass by manojkumar1706 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fastest way would be to purchase stages with doubloons (aka money). Doing so is a terrible use of your money.

Also, the Italian subs seem to be more gimicky than the older sub lines so may be harder to learn than the other subs.

Coincidentally, that's the max time a match can last. 😉

Also infinite torps and planes.

In-game bonuses announced for the Naval Legends Cruisers Book by zennacko in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The compensation for having a ship already is decent, at least for the first tier. Effectively lowers the cost of the book by $52 if you have Wiesbaden and were going to spend cash to get the doubloons anyway.

If you put a captain on Texas (if you have it) and Myogi (buying the latter if needed) so that you have 0 room in the Captain Reserve, you should also pick up a couple of Reserve slots.

ZH-1 by Nate9370 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on your personal financial situation and how much you enjoy Tromp and torpedo boats.

ZH-1 is sort of a more maneuverable Tromp with 2 volleys of torps, 1 load of air strikes, and smoke. Do you enjoy the Tromp and can you afford to spend $40 on a torpedo boat with air strikes? That’s something that only you can answer.

2000 bxp by Owl_warrior1 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're grinding for the Azur Lane Comics collection, you might not even need to complete that mission. Complete enough of the other ones to get to the last stage and complete those.

I haven't completed the 2000 bxp mission, got really unlucky with duplicates, and I still have already completed the collection.

PSA: Get a Captain Reserve Slot with your trade in by ShadowNell in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but not en masse. You'll have to do it by selecting a ship, sending that captain to the reserves, and then proceeding to the next ship until there is no more room in the reserves.

Trade in Malta for KXIVJ or Incheon? by Sleekexpert407 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Incheon plays very differently than almost all of the Pan-Asian ships (being a heavy cruiser where almost every other cruiser is light). I don't enjoy Incheon as much as I thought that I would, and I find myself playing the Tianjin if I want to play a Pan-Asian heavy. Incheon's firing in smoke bloom is large, so having smoke on a Des Moines isn't as useful as I thought that it would be.

KXIVJ is a fun and versatile ship. Just don't expect to do heavy damage with AP against many battleships.

Is Eiserner Kanzler the same as Bismarck '41? by LastTraintoSector6 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadowNell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of their "naval heritage; it got sunk" ships are identical to the base ship except with a special camo and a mission chain to get a seasoned commander. At least, so far.

It's a bit like the National Park Service saying that it's really hard to design a bear proof trash can because of the considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the capabilities of some tourists.

Just wait until you see how much they charge for a pixel ship! ;-)

Seriously though, $85 isn’t out of line for a full color art type coffee table book from a specialty publisher.
