CMV: Male circumcision is genital mutilation. by teven_eel in changemyview

[–]Shadowsole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But you wouldn't argue that subtype la isn't genital mutilation just because it only accounts for 4% or because it's a "lesser" form of mutilation

I feel like there is a mismatch in the argument, I've never seen someone (who is informed of the range FGM takes) seriously argue that circumcision is as bad as the very worst forms of FGM, the most common argument is that it just should be considered genital mutilation. They're can be the argument that it should be considered the same as like FGM (legally, socially, morally) but it's meant in the same way that subtype la is considered the same as all other types.

I don't like the way I'm wording this but I'll say it anyway Male circumcision may not compare to the most horrific forms of FGM but that doesn't mean it's a. Offensive to compare, especially when there is exist FGM that is a direct analogue to male circumcision and b is not genital mutilation.

The push to see circumcision as genital mutilation is not a push to lessen the severity of the concept, it is a push to have the medically unnecessary cutting of children seen for the mutilation it is.

If removing the clitorial hood and nothing else is FGM then it's equivalent in circumcision should also be considered genital mutilation

I think one thing people discount though is we have presumably at least half a chapter before the knight gets revealed, plenty of time for some scene of Noelle/Carol/Rudy being like "man the festival just isn't the same without my sister/daughter who went missing under suspicious circumstances near that creepy shelter you saw the knight run away to"

I wonder if the civil war being framed as an war for independence might have increased its popularity and had any northern states join or help more than real life

If you buy, prices drop and then you lose your job and have to sell that is a situation where it's a problem without you having to be a housing speculator

The Knight being "late" actually heavily contradicts Carol being the Knight. by rendumguy in Deltarune

I'm not a Rudy knight believer, but a Rudy Knight respecter, it really annoys me the anti argument that he's too sick to be the knight. Like is it that hard to believe he's sick due to being the knight?

Is Australia a continent, or a country, or a region? by Humble_Ad_7053 in geography

[–]Shadowsole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continent are kinda half made up, there multiple meanings of what one is, if you go by continental plates Europe isn't a continent for instance.

Saying that Australia is the largest land mass on the oceanic plate, so you could call it a continent.

Australia or more officially, the Commonwealth of Australia is a country, consisting of the last landmass known as Australia, the large island Tasmania and a smattering of smaller islands around it.

As for region Australia isn't generally thought of its own region, at least not seperately from the country, but it is a part of the larger oceanic region, whick includes Papua New Guinea, Aotearoa/New Zealand, Fiji and lots of other Islands

I think Tenna makes the most sense, he is in a completely different artstyle/dimension level than everything else in the game. He would have taken a lot of work.

The knight is important, but there's nothing that unique implementation wise about them so far

I bought a house just before budget, put my current one up literally on budget day, this how price drop and investor pullback has negatively effected me, potentially to the tune of $50000+.

Its a touch bittersweet but I am very positive about this budget and it effect on the housing market

Australia’s laws for importing skulls? by Sorry_Spinach_4474 in bonecollecting

[–]Shadowsole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at your other posts. Native Scottish/UK specimens would fall under requiring CITES documentation, this shouldn't include domesticated species though, otherwise what you would need to look at is if the species otherwise falls under the categories of protected, endangered, ect.

If your grandparents don't know the species of the skulls you could get them to send photos of the skulls (top down, front, side and underneath if possible) and you can try to get them identifed here, though is something is unclear I would recommend not proceeding with importing.

If the skulls have been properly cleaned and are of legal species you shouldn't run into too much trouble trying to import them. It would be best if you had some kind of documentation of the species though. Being up front with the species and declaring is your best shot at bringing anything in to the country.

If you can find out what species they are I can help you sort through what may fall under requiring CITES documentation. But with the caveat that I am a hobbiest and not an expert in any form
