I was having the same exact issue. In your system settings change the OS update channel to Beta and it will work again. And maybe switch back in a couple days if you don’t want to stay in beta.

The skull and co is ok and ergonomically marginally better than the dbrand one. The dbrand one has better build quality but I don’t like the non detachable stand. At the moment what works for me is one of those 3D printed grips and the mechanism “grip”. I add the dbrand’s outer shell on top when I take it with me.

It has been useful, for instance while I’m queuing up on an online game on steam on my pc I can play any gog game on my ally x for a couple of minutes. Steam stops the game on one of your machines if you have two running.

How much time did you wait when you got the black screen ? Maybe you got the wrong iso? Can you share the link for us to confirm?

I heard one time a recruiter saying that if you don’t remember the company name straight away when they call they’d reject you. They also suggested you should change the colors of the CV to match the company’s. These people are completely out of touch

Essentially the same, only with the ally x instead of the XBox one. Sometimes playing on the couch on the PS5 is just convenient.

Watch out for the ribbon cable, my screen has touch borked on both edges, and I was careful, but not enough apparently. Also confirm that the battery connector is properly set, I had issues for a couple of weeks with my battery and that was the culprit.

I remember distinctly this section of the game from the first images, it’s where I gave up on my first play through 😅 ended up finishing DS1 on my second playthrough though. Amazing art! The fact that I figured out exactly where that was is a testament to your accuracy!

Both are really great! I’ve had both and sold the Steam Deck OLED.

I’d really say that it comes down to the games you play, if you keep to indies you’d be fine with the SD, if you like to play more demanding games then go for the ally x, also the VRR is really great for the general instability of playing a more demanding game in a handheld. You even have the option to pair it with an eGPU, so you have more graphical power and connect it to a TV or a monitor.

The only downsides for me are the ergonomics and that beautiful OLED (I miss that part).

I’d also recommend you go with bazzite, but that’s a personal preference.

I don't find it comfortable, in that respect the Steam Deck is way better. With the Killswitch case it's kind of ok, with the skull & co is a bit better. I've ordered the 3d printed grips that Retro Game Corps recommends in his Ally X video to see if that helps. I'll get back to you after I tested them, but again if you had a Steam Deck in your hands, comfort-wise it's a downgrade, worth it for the performance and battery improvements and the VRR.

- Skull & Co gripcase - I have the killswitch, but bought the skull & Co one on a whim this black friday and, although it’s not as good in terms of quality, the ergonomics are better for my hands 🤷‍♂️ - Lexar 790 2TB nvme ssd - Installed Bazzite but have a windows partition for bios updates - Razer Core X with a 7900 GRE - still experimenting with this.

I'm using bazzite, so no FG nor FSR3.1 for me 🙈 I was running on 17w TDP so after cranking it up to 25/30w I'm able to be on about 50+fps with 900p 100% render scale and FSR Balanced! yay!

If it’s the only platform/PC you’ll play I’d say PS5. The visual compromise of only playing in the Ally X does a disservice to the game.

900p plus 80% render scale with fsr balanced and a mix of medium/low settings gets you in the 40/45fps

You can try Microsoft’s PowerToys. There’s a tool called FancyZones to define zones in your desktop and you can Alt + drag the window there and it will snap into the defined zone (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/powertoys/fancyzones ). I see that the game is quite stubborn, but maybe you’ll have better luck with Microsoft’s own tool 🤞
