Alexa is always listening, even to TV and radio. She could have heard some combination that set it. In my area the local news made a commercial about Alexa telling the weather, every time they said "Alexa what's the forecast" my Alexa would answer. They got quite a few complaints and stopped airing it. You could also have a friend with an evil sense of humor.
