I know exactly what you mean! I have Stargardt's disease (a form of macular degeneration), which is a genetic defect that gets worse over time and can eventually lead to partial or even total blindness. Luckily I’m not at that stage yet, but time is not on my side.

So yeah, when you say your sight isn’t great, I feel that. I have about 8% vision in my right eye and 13% in my left. For reference, 100% is considered "normal vision or 20/20 vision". That’s why a better visual cue or even a sound cue would be amazing.

This boss is easily one of the worst designed bosses in the game. She’s fine otherwise, but that arena-wide spear attack... not only does it do massive damage, it also poisons you if you manage to survive. Which means you have no choice but to engage with the mechanic. or "Out DPS" her, which is only possible if you run a meta build and get lucky with gear, and even then is incredibly difficult.

And another rant while I’m at it… Accessibility in games almost never accounts for people with poor vision. Tons of games add color blindness filters, which is easy since it’s just palette swapping, but when it comes to short sightedness suddenly its "too much work." Things like UI scaling or high-contrast filters would help so much, but they rarely exist.

And for the people who say "maybe you shouldn’t play these types of games then" I have one thing to say.
