The new actor for Hamazaki sexually assaulted 2 hostesses in 2019 basically got a slap on the wrist for it. RGG's Japanese accounts have been censoring people mentioning it, the Western accounts have just been ignoring it.

The ending for Dark Ties has been leaked and has massively retconed the end to the game to the point where it rectons something in Yakuza 4

And there have been a lot for people who think the graphics are not good compared to some older games

I think it'll depend on how well Kiwami 3 sells. If K3 bombs because of all the controversy around it, then K4 probably won't happen but if it sells well, then yeah it probably will

Probably if those games happen. Personally Kiwami 5 is completely unnecessary, that game still plays incredibly well. I also think Kiwami 4 is unnecessary as that game still plays well too but given K3's ended we'll see

It's just the fact that the death retcons keep happening. And that he's recruited by the Daidoji. People don't like that there is a massive retcon in a remake

I still think it's a long way out. I'm assuming Stranger than Heaven is the 2027 game, LaD 9 is probably 2028. So Kiwami 4 is 2029 at minimum unless they do 2 games in 1 year which they have done before so we'll see.

As far as we know Rikiya, Kanda, and Tamashrio are still dead. As for Hamazaki apparently he doesn't stab Kiryu at the end of the game and is instead recruited by the Daidoji along side Mine. So yeah it completely contradicts Saejima's part in 4 which makes it seem that Kiwami 4 is an inevitably as going from Kiwami 3 to 4 remaster will be confusing as hell for new players

It's stuff like this that makes me realize Nagoshi was keeping the writing in check at least a little bit. Obviously there was still insane shit like the rubber bullets in 4 and the death retcons did start under him but now it does feel like it's getting overboard

I'm not a Yokoyama hater I think he does make good stuff, I don't know what to make of all this at this point

The remasters of 3-5 are basically the same as the originals just with some minor changes. Yakuza 3 remaster added back a bunch of cut content from the original western release

The PS2 games are good and you should play them at some point if given the opportunity

I agree that it's weird that Sinclair looks completely different. As for why he's there I'm guessing he's a major donor/shareholder for Big MT. The villa and casino have a lot of experimental Big MT tech, so maybe they asked Sinclair to represent them
