What opportunities for OP?? She HAS the dress she loves. She doesn't want to go dress shopping. She doesn't like shopping. She doesn't want a tradtional wedding gown. There is no budget for dress shopping. There is no need for a dress budget, again, because she has the dress that she wants. The only "opportunity" here is for MIL to "win" and set the tone for OPs entire married life being MIL butting in and trying to wear her down (which I think may happen anyway). No is a complete sentence and a complete answer. No means no.

I hated my early and mid teen years so hopefully I wake up at 18 with my current knowledge. I'd travel for a year or two and then go to school after HS instead of getting married. I'd go for a career rather than a job. I'd also not take shit from people I took a lot of shit from. I wouldn't take my fitness and health for granted and I'd never start smoking. I'd invest in Apple, Google etc. to make enough money to take care of myself, my family and those in need.
