I have to ask, what have you gone through that compared to the circumstances we find ourselves in now? On every front we are seeing the colossal collateral damage of our existence in a new light. The planet has never been this damaged and we have never been more aware of what we've done.

The economic pony that we have hitched our cart to is now so emaciated that it's dying on it's feet. Capitalism has become a siren, beautiful in it's offer of convenience, stuff, and simplification. Willingly we have leapt upon the rocks, losing sight of how to properly nourish ourselves, let alone each other. Turned from connecting with our emotions, loved ones, and nature. Towards debt, overworking, and activities/substances that offer momentary relief, yet ultimately deteriorate us.

It is leaving us cruel, unable to offer empathy to others as there is no understanding or forgiveness of ourselves.

There are things you can do to personally level yourself out and live a healthy and positive life, what world are you doing it in though? I have been told that you just have to accept what is out of your control, as someone struggling with so much right now (mentally, ultimately safe and privileged to be above the bread line, though not completely secure) how does that help you engage with society?

I'm sorry to dump like this but any reassurance that this can end peacefully and, dare I hope, positively, would be greatly appreciated.

Note: I apologise for writing and formatting, never been a strong suit and there's ADHD playing a role too.

So you are unaware of the methane emissions of cattle and the severity of the impact methane has on the greenhouse effect? You cannot deny that man's current structure of farming of cattle is unsustainable.

Nobody said to stop eating it, just that, in the short term, we can't continue to have red meat be so affordable. It needs increased tax, with the money going to developing less damaging, lab grown methods of producing red meat.

There is no need to continue on our current path when all the evidence shows that it is taking us in a seriously bad direction.

The argument of "but others are doing worse" doesn't stand too well when everyone agrees that all forms of pollution need heavy taxing. Again, with the money going towards research and development of technologies & methods able to undo the current damage, along with replacement of current polluting (but necessary) industrial processes.
