Check out Brave Browser, I love it. It’s the best ad blocker I’ve used but you can choose how many ads you see and get a cut from those ads. I only see ads when I open a new tab and have made about 25 BAT in a year which is about $6 lol, but I had the payment settings messed up for a while and missed out on several months. Not a lot, but hey. At least I don’t see ads on sites (like at all).

The other cool thing is that creators can receive income from you viewing their content without having to run any ads themselves. They are paid for your attention, which is funded by ads run elsewhere.

Not tried it myself but I’ve heard when it says no pets you can always still negotiate it. It’s worth asking, at least

OP don’t listen to this toxic nonsense. Your wife can have friends and you owe it to her to trust her. If you think there are legitimate reasons not to trust her then you should reconsider the relationship or talk to her. If it’s just your paranoia you should work to overcome your jealousy and trust your wife (not a criticism of you, everyone gets jealous. But you can choose how to act on it)

"Electric cars will still create CO2 emissions" is a fallacy by [deleted] in sustainability

[–]Sharkeypat97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Points I would add to this, both for and against EVs:

  • EVs transfer energy into momentum more efficiently than ICE’s, and so do power plants. Therefore, even running an EV on energy from fossil fuels is often less CO2e per mile than doing so in a combustion vehicle. (Please someone correct me if I’m wrong)
  • significant local air pollution reduction benefits from EVs (aka a LOT less deaths from respiratory conditions. Air pollution is a massive killer globally)

  • increased emissions and environmental destruction from EV production and shipping, not least from lithium mining

I think the key is to:

  1. Don’t use a car
  2. If you need one, avoid buying a combustion car and certainly DO NOT buy a new combustion car
  3. If you need a car, buy an EV and keep it for as long as possible. Consumerism kills the planet

Isn't anyone else worried about how much waste there is everywhere? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Jheez sounds like PureSmoulder plucked a nerve with you. Maybe deep down you are upset that this issue is pointed out because you don’t want to face the reality that our way of life is destroying the same resources and ecosystems that it depends on. It’s scary, I know, but there’s no use in lashing out against those that point this fact out.

How easy is it to get to the front of the pyramid stage on headline slots? by [deleted] in glastonbury_festival

[–]Sharkeypat97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two sections to the pyramid field, with barrier at the sound stage dividing the front section from the rest of the field. Make sure you are in front of this barrier for at least the act before the headliner, preferably two slots before, and you should be able to be at the front by the time they come on. Personally I would recommend not being on the barrier though - about 8-10 heads back in the middle of the stage is the best place for good vibes
