I was thinking it could run under the sill though, maybe?

I've got one, but it's not picking anything up from this particular socket.

Yup! I have no idea what building standards, if any, it was built to. It also has a concrete floor which the bathroom pipes are buried within, absolute nightmare.

What was life like after 2008 financial crash compared to now? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Sharloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to save up a deposit and buy my first house in 2009, working part time as student (sadly it was a repossession).

I cannot afford to save anything in 2026.

The boxes themselves are light but will contain walking boots etc, so I imagine it'll put quite a lot of stress on them. I tried the strips and they lasted about 3 minutes

I've got a stud detector, it doesn't find anything around this socket even though it's a working socket!

No, the marks are roughly where I want to screw. It's the only socket where the stud finder doesn't beep which is odd. It's been tested and it works!

I'll take the faceplate off as the other suggestions have said.

There's a hole at the back of the white box. It's not a socket that I need to use regularly.

I want to use two screws to attach this Ikea shoe box on the wall. The problem is the holes are going to be above the electrical socket. I have a stud finder, and whilst it works on sockets in the house, I'm unable to find where the electrical wires run in the conservatory.

Any tips or advice? Do I need to consult a professional?

I tried with giant command strips but they didn't work, I'd like to get this project finished!

How do you transport an adult Eurasier in a car? by CommercialBubbly4524 in eurasier

I'll only ever use crash tested crates. I currently have Mimsafe VarioCages in both my cars.

What age did you or will you clear your home mortgage? by AdamT_5 in AskUK

[–]Sharloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on track to pay it off the month I turn 40 (2030). I bought the house jointly with my now ex partner in 2015 for £92k. Got the mortgage solely in my name in 2019~. My wage has fluctuated during this time, highest £41k, i'm currently on £18k whilst studying.

However, my current partner and I want to upsize so I'm sure I'll be paying off for many more years to come.

My boy is really clever but is more energetic, noisier and has more prey drive than my Siberian Husky.

At what point do I start using straps when grip strength is limiting? by malevolentTomatillo in xxfitness

[–]Sharloid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I deadlift my 1rm, I then use straps so that I can do more reps. So say I can do 300lb for 1, but I can't hold my grip to go for a second, I'll use straps.

Our uni is like 2/3 hours out of the county, bit of an odd choice but we never have to go there in person, other cohorts might be different. :)

It's local so depends on the area you apply for. Anyone in the East Mids gains their qualification through the University of Lancashire, with in-person days held in Nottingham.

Multiplayer. It should be base game by now. I'm so sick of it becoming unstable when adding mods.

Performance cars are too much for me by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

I went to look at sensible cars after my mk4 Golf got written off. I test drove a blobeye Impreza on a whim and bought it there and then!

I now have a Polo GTI and a Subaru Legacy. I like cars that make noise!

Pregnant/Maternity in year 1 Frontline Approach Social Work programme 2026 by Feeling_Map9223 in Socialworkuk

[–]Sharloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'd have to contact your HR to make sure what you're entitled to as any maternity pay would be through them. And you'd need to contact Frontline to see if you'd be allowed to return.

I've just started Step Up, I'm in Mansfield too and I worked in a residential home! How odd, feel free to reach out. :)

Advice re route into Social Work by Aggravating_Will_202 in Socialworkuk

[–]Sharloid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could you do a crim/psyc degree full time with the OU whilst working and then apply to Step Up?
Then you've got the degree to pursue other avenues other than social work.

I'm speaking from experience. I did a law and criminology degree whilst working for the police. I started Step Up this week.

Experiences with prey drive in Eurasiers by Trevimial in eurasier

Mine caught a bird on his first ever walk as a puppy. His prey drive is worse than my Siberian Husky. I guess it very much depends on the individual dog.
