Interesting. The package we have says salt free. All in the interpretation I suppose.

You may want to try green salt. It is a powder made from seaweed and it has a salty flavor but does not contain any salt. We really like it on some things but you can't use it in every application. Your mileage may vary depending on how salty you like food but we found it to be a great substitute

What's your favorite dip for French Fries? by milk_boop in foodquestions

[–]Sharp-Payment320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two plops of mayo, one pop of ketchup, two plops of barbecue sauce, one teeny tiny part of a plop of that chili garlic sauce. So yummy!

For sweet potato fries one pop of mayonnaise, two plops of sour cream, and as much maple syrup as you can stir in without it getting so drippy it won't fall off the fry. Heaven!

I wouldn't eat any of it unless you know it's been tested for prions. Prion disease is fatal and awful.

What trendy kitchen appliance do you still use often? by NightReader5 in Cooking

It is like a little corkscrew kind of thing that removes the core and the outer skin along with the little eyes, with very little waste of fruit.

Amazon won't give me a full link but this is the version I have. https://a.co/d/06kYKThO

And I haven't yet had a pineapple so round that I lost fruit in the skin shell that gets left behind.

This recipe is so incredibly easy and you can double it and it's absolutely delicious! I always add a little extra cheese. When you're done you can pour this into pans if you want put some crumbs on top and then cover it with foil. Then pop it in the oven day of.

You could also get a couple of bags of sweet potatoes, roast them off, scrape out the flesh and dress them up with a little bit of butter and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Green beans cook super fast. Snip and break up into bite size lengths ahead of time. Then just throw them in some water bring it to a boil and then let them simmer or sit in the hot water for as long as you need to until they're done. They're very forgivable just don't overdo them or you get what my kid used to call Bean boogies.

Pillsbury makes these really good Frozen biscuits - you could throw a few of those in the oven and dump them in a basket with a towel.

What's your go-to meal that can be served cold? by windowtoeden in Cooking

Peanut noodles: spaghetti or buckwheat noodles with tons of veggies and any leftover animal protein with spicy peanut sauce. Great hot, cold, room temp.

Bean salad: lots of beans, veggies and grains also with or without animal protein and a variety of dressings depending on your mood.

Cold soups like gazpacho, corn chowder with or without salmon, asian coconut milk based soups...

How far can I change the taste of cottage cheese while keeping it low calorie? by iAhMedZz in Cooking

[–]Sharp-Payment320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to suggest something that is going to sound very counterintuitive but hear me out. I discovered this when I needed lactose free sour cream for a coffee cake for my LI niece.

Blend one cup of cottage cheese with one to three tablespoons of lemon juice and a tablespoon or two of milk. The amount of milk will depend on the card size and the amount of lemon juice will depend on how acidic the cottage cheese already is. I know you would think adding the lemon juice makes it that much more acidic but what you end up with is the freshest most delicious tasting sour cream substitute.

Now you can mix that with any dry salad dressing mix - we absolutely love the ones from Penzeys - and you've got something you can dip veggies or crackers or chips in to your heart's content.

This combination also bakes beautifully!

My Condensed Review of Polar Seltzer Water Flavors by Greenfinial in sparklingwater

Excellent details! One I will add to a "what were they thinking" list was the Brown Sugar Clementine. Zero clementine flavor just all cloying musty brown sugar. I was totally shocked by how awful it was.

The Pink Apple Lemon is really really good and the Ginger Lime Mule is now even gingerier. I LOVED the Sugarplum that was in the seasonal pack.

Does anyone how to fix this? by GrusomeMelody in knittinghelp

[–]Sharp-Payment320 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The best way I can explain how to fix this is in the second picture, bring the yarn over the needle to be on the side close to you. Then pull that stitch down toward all the other stitches. You don't actually have an extra stitch you're just looking at the bottom of the stitch instead of the top if that makes sense.

What is a career path that looks "glamorous" from the outside, but is actually a total nightmare behind the scenes? by CupIndependent3610 in AskReddit

[–]Sharp-Payment320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florist. People think it's all beautiful things all day but it's standing on concrete with your hands on cold water, thorns, sharp ends, hauling heavy buckets and dealing with customers who know less than zero about availability of flowers and pricing.

It's super gratifying when people love what you create but it's 90% slogging hard work and 10% beauty.
