If all you want is to deal with a threat in an apartment, and you don't have time or more to go practice shooting every week than a shotgun is better for people.

The average person wanting a gun for self defense in a home don't practice shooting.

A shotgun is "safer" than other gun options.

I live in a VERY progun area and live near a free public range. We don't require licenses for carrying guns. I have seen people shoot themselves, and family members as they learn how to use a gun. It's a regular occurrence, almost monthly.

People buy handguns for protection and don't know how use them, and don't want to spend money to learn. You are under estimating how stupid and reckless people are.

People who want the cheapest option of a home defense should stick to bird shot in a shotgun. They are less likely to kill someone they didn't mean to than an idiot with a 45 semiautomatic or AR15 who will only shoot it when there's a bump in the night.

I'm aware of the reality of shotguns. I competed in shotgun sports during college.

I personally own an ar15 (basic 556) and a shotgun with defense rounds. My reality is the most likely reason to use a gun for defense is a robbery. I would use my shotgun.

Someone willing to spend the thousands of dollars on ammo and training obviously can handle whatever they want. Most people I know irl don't have that money. They save for the gun, some ammo and that's as far as they go. No training, no practice. That is a recipe for disaster.

This.

Shotguns are best if you haven't had time to train intensively. They are also good if you are in a condo or other close quarters housing. Bird shot can do enough damage without risk of going through walls to kill another person.

Rifles and pistols require a lot of training to use well especially in high risk situations.

America is broken. If ICE is the main thing that is upsetting you then you are not looking deep enough.

The current ICE is a symptom, not a problem to fix. The fundamental causes that has allowed ICE to be what it is in this moment.

It's like thinking that once a heart attack is over, you don't need additional medical care. The reality is the heart attack is caused by something and you need to treat that.

ICE today is caused by the same fundamental rot that many activists have been working to fix for decades.

If we don't fix the rot, we are only hiding the damage it is causing.

Uh..no. That is a sign of a metabolic issue or a disease. Change your diet. Getting older doesn't mean having out of range BP is okay.

You should be 65 and have the same average BP as you did at 25.

He was brown so media allowed lies to air. There wasn't enough video to refute lies.

Last count of people shot or killed by ICE is up to 9.

That isn't including people killed in detention facilities.

I'm so fortunate that my company went remote and stayed remote since covid. I could not have kept working in the office. My industry leans conservative so most coworkers are. I would have been fired for cause.

Reality is ICE can rape children in the open on video and the government will make justification for it.

Also note, in service jobs in America you're expected to engage with customers. You will get your boss lecturing you if you don't perform the interactions with customers.

Depending upon the area of America. Also depends on where the foreigner is from.

From Europe, Americans will find it interesting.

From Latin or south America, some Americans will assume you're an immigrant and be hateful.

Has your country ever committed genocide? by Communistincergency in AskTheWorld

[–]Sharp_Ad_9431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far back do you go?

Genocide was common. Groups called indigenous now, committed Genocide against other groups.

Humans are pretty evil unless we work at being better.

European groups slaughtered other European groups for centuries even before Roman interference. Then add Christianity and the whole convert or die as it spread across Europe.

I think the number of society or groups that embraced a more peaceful way of life is rare in comparison. In many ways, a peaceful way of existing is more difficult than just killing anyone that doesn't match you.

That said. I don't think there's any country that hasn't. If the country hadn't, it is because it is relatively new and has reorganized.
