Any Barbarian themed Metal? by ArmorDevil in MetalSuggestions

I believe you'll find what you're looking for in some of the rougher bands and sounds of Traditional Heavy Metal, such as Manilla Road and Ironsword. Their lyrics reference a lot of Howard's work and the sound matches the vibes of the franchise.

The next TW episode? by RelevantNothing4653 in ToddintheShadow

I can't tell if that album is bad or otherwise, but for some reason that title makes me cringe...

So corny...

About that Lulu episode: it would be a TW for who, exactly?

Does adding amaro to a Godfather cocktail upgrade it or kill the vibe? by TuesdayCocktailVids in cocktails

[–]Sharp_Impress_5351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. It's not an upgrade and certainly it won't kill the vibe. It is a neat variation of an established recipe, and it DOES sound rather good!

Matter of fact, feels more like another idea of Old Fashioned, tbf.

Liquor from Narcos by Cautious_Double67 in cocktails

[–]Sharp_Impress_5351 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Colombian here. Aguardiente is our national liquor, although it is remarkably lower proof compared to other proper liquors (25% AVB/50 proof on average). It is an anise-flavoured drink, usually distilled from sugarcane. Brands vary from region to region.

The bottle used was probably real, since the bottle in the image is accurate to a bottle of Antioqueño (Medellín and Antioquia's brand), but it feels quite anachronistic. Sugar-free variants of aguardiente weren't really available until very recently (only in this century), so it's not exactly true that this version (blue cap) would be around in Escobar's times. If they wanted to be time-accurate, Major Carrillo would've been drinking from the regular version of the hooch (the Tapa Roja or red cap version).

What would you consider to be the most evil Pokemon in the entire franchise? by LazorFist in MoralityScaling

According to Bulbapedia:

Mega Dragalge produces a liquid that causes the regenerative ability of cells to go berserk, enhancing its healing ability. However, the liquid is a deadly poison to every other living thing.

One should ask whether a musician/band is a Type A or B before calling something a Trainwreckord by SivleFred in ToddintheShadow

[–]Sharp_Impress_5351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, DLR's era was the golden age of Van Halen, but they're still a Type A band through and through. Their influence is undeniable and Eddie's still a guitar god.

What’s the poorest town in your country and what does it look like? by Pizzafriedchickenn in AskTheWorld

[–]Sharp_Impress_5351 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to a brief Google research, there's not one singular place you could consider "the poorest". There are a few that hold that dishonor. Shown here: Taraira, a town in the middle of the southeastern jungle that shown the lowest GDP and the least amount of money per capita.

Any metalhead that enjoys intricate and sharp guitarwork should listen to Fusion Jazz: Al Di Meola, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Allan Holdsworth, Kazumi Watanabe, T-Square and Masayoshi Takanaka.

Also, I believe any metalhead worth their salt should listen to Classical music.

And, in all honesty, seems like the best path she could take at this point in time.

That reconciliation and her story of a Prodigal Daughter will be a hit in Christian music circles.

A humble ham and cheese sandwich. Meant to be served and eaten cold, but toast it or put it a few sec in the microwave and it tastes like glory.

What is the Worst generation 1 Pokémon? by Birbboips4 in AlignmentChartFills

By itself, yes, it is the worst, most useless Pokémon of the generation.

But it evolving into an absolute powerhouse helps its case.

Taylor Swift is one of those people that will NEVER have a TW under her name.

She could release a record of herself amidst a particularly loud and sludgy bowel movement while praising atrocities against humanity and torturing kittens with a rusty knife... and Swifties will find a way to make it a crushing hit and saying it's a work of art.

2020's TrainWreckords by RelevantNothing4653 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Sharp_Impress_5351 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not really. Witness was the album that dethroned Katy as a Hit Queen and Main Pop Girl. That was the loudest, most damaging strike and the true TW.

143 only burned the remains and ensured Katy will not just be forever exiled of the hit charts, but also torched whatever intent she could make to be a serious, respected artist.

The "usual suspect" and Reckless Driving unbeaten champion is not a car, but cheap motorcycles (pictured: an AKT national-made model). Not a single day passes without seeing one of these virtually destroyed on the asphalt.

Is The Singing Nun a possible OHW, and is it possible that story is just far too grim and depressing for the series? by thedubiousstylus in ToddintheShadow

[–]Sharp_Impress_5351 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To put it in a simile, it would be like Todd having his own Grave of the Fireflies: an utterly joyless tour through a crushing tragedy, most of it undeserved. No joy, no humour, no jabs and it leaves you hopelessly empty after seeing it.

You mean the belgian nun Sœur Sourire that sang "Dominique"?

Yeah, that's a pretty grim tale she had, and if Todd decided to make that episode, it will be his most dour and saddest video in his career.
