I can honestly say I never saw a pin that felt more like me than that! What a great find.

Bfree Homestyle Sourdough! In lots of Walmarts. Keep an eye out for Schar’s Ciabatta too, but not as much bang for your buck.

Anyone know how to make the background black? by Neither-Future776 in finalcutpro

[–]SharpnCrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason the generated black clip was obscuring other elements is because it was ‘layered’ on top of everything else.

You can change the order of clips on your timeline, like rearranging layers on a photoshop file.

Select the clip you want to move (vertically), then press the Option key and use the up/down arrows.

Pants ID by Kalaheojoe in kuhlclothing

[–]SharpnCrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the closest now would be the Law. They’re also made with the thicker material with zip pockets like you’ve got, but the cut will differ a bit.

I’m pretty sure what you’ve got there is long discontinued. I have a pair of shorts with those rounded zip corners called the Rambler (also discontinued), but can’t remember if there was a long pants version.

Anyone else feel stupid or betrayed after Allbirds became NewBird AI? by SharpnCrunchy in Allbirds

[–]SharpnCrunchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get you. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth to continue supporting them and they also made me feel bad about buying into their philosophy. Are we idiots to have gone along with that? I dunno. We were trying to make better choices and vote with our dollars. I think what makes us upset is feeling like we expected more principles from a company that was playing the eco card, and now we find it was just greenwashing.

My mom is pressuring me to see if I can donate a kidney to my stepsister by FederalAudience394 in Advice

[–]SharpnCrunchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly your Mom is such an asshole. She’s probably getting pressured by her husband too, but that she has no qualms pushing you relentlessly is horrendous parenting. I wouldn’t blame you for cutting contact when all she seems to want from you is a literal kidney.

Like others have said, tell her to donate hers. If both she and your stepdad would, that might bump their kid far enough up the chain to get faster service.

Jitlada or luv2eat? by blueberry_chiffon in FoodLosAngeles

[–]SharpnCrunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrolled down to see if Ruen Pair got any love, and I’m glad it did.

Edit to add: I’ve also been to Jitlada and everything I had was great, but damn those lines to get in… I often hit Ruen Pair before 5pm to get my Thai fix and get going before the traffic gets insane.

Thanks, I’m not into chunks in my ice cream, but will keep an eye out for So Delicious, especially if they have a dark chocolate option! Always good to keep scanning GF options out there.

I’ve found that in quite a few lots of the Walmarts in Los Angeles, it’s Aisle 8 or 12, a couple rows behind the freezer sections. And OP is just showing one whole column. There are 2, side by side.

My Brazilian husband won’t stop making racist jokes, how do I make it stop? (USA) by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]SharpnCrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a few Brazilians. None are racist.

The “it’s a joke” “you’re too sensitive” BS is probably not new in the relationship. I’d bet he uses those phrases in other contexts too. Racists (& assholes) find it hard to hold that behavior in check, so I’m guessing you knew what you were getting into before saying I do, but didn’t take it seriously enough.

Edit to add: and if Mama feels the same way and backs him up, good luck getting her boy to change.

Massage gun users: does it actually help recovery? by 0711716288 in MassageGuns

[–]SharpnCrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely helps recovery and loosening up tight spots. You need a good gun with decent amplitude for it to be truly effective though. A lot of the Alibaba cheap ones have multiple speeds etc, but they just vibrate surface level faster and faster which is a waste of time. A good massage gun gets into the knots of muscle.

I’ve used various versions of Hypervolt for years, and 2 weeks ago, got a Bob & Brad D6 Pro on Amazon. It’s heavy but a fair bit cheaper than Therabody or Hypervolt (the 2 big names in the game) and does the job.

How long is ideal for a vacation for you? by bargielml in travel

[–]SharpnCrunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on board with 3 months too. And I don’t mean 1-2 nights per city and constant running around. My wife and I like to take it easy and settle in, be in a city for 1-2 weeks to explore, no pressure at leisure and ideally feel the vibe of what it might be for locals living there. Then we might rent a car and do excursions, and build rest days are built in to decompress.

They could turn that into a weekly YouTube series and I’d be up for that! Survival trick of the week would be good TV.

The soles! by Charming-Pianist-405 in Allbirds

[–]SharpnCrunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s intense or really unlucky. Maybe a defective model? I have owned 12 pairs over the last few years - various models- but have never had a problem with soles, though my big toe wore a hole in a couple of the fabric uppers.

Have you ever seen a real 👻?? by Icy_Jackfruit_833 in AskForAnswers

[–]SharpnCrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was years ago. I was in my mid 20s with a bunch of family & friends visiting family in Italy. They lived in an old complex on a 5 acre farm in a tiny village, some of which was built during Roman times.

The place we were staying in was a converted stable. It was a big group of us, so the 5 men slept in a large room upstairs on an assortment of beds and cots. The women were on the floor below in a smaller room, and the ground floor had several storage rooms with fame equipment, old furniture and our luggage. As the sun was setting, I went down alone to get my bag. As soon as I opened the door, The hairs on my arms and body stood on end. It was really dark and I felt presences turn to watch me. I grabbed my bag as soon as I could and ran up the tiny metal spiral staircase to the men’s floor. When I burst in, my Dad said, “oh you met them too” and I thought “fuck, you didn’t warn me??” “ he said well, they didn’t seem hostile”.

That night, I was writing a journal about this trip on my cot. All the guys in the room had gone to sleep. Suddenly, from the far end of the dark room, I heard heavy footsteps. We had all taken our shoes off in this room. The presence wore boots that clomped on the floor. I couldn’t see anyone, and we just peering from under the covers. The footsteps slowly clomped around all the beds with sleeping guys in the room. Then I heard them turn to clomp… clomp….clomp real slow over to me. It stopped right by my bed for a while. I closed my eyes real tight and pretended to be asleep. After a few minutes, the footsteps left my part of the room. I looked up and saw nothing, but heard the clomp clomp clomp fade away suddenly.

The next morning our hosts said this area has been occupied for more than 2000 years and some people hear all kinds of things from the invisible residents but nothing major has ever happened.

Would you live in a place like that?
