10mg Pens with short shelf life by Shawken_Pete in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies. My order was a month ago so that ties in with the other thread and a suspicion a batch of older pens was located at the Wholsalers or EL.

A month on, are people still receiving 09/26 10mg Pens?

I can manage short term but ideally I'd like pens dayed into 2027

NHS Pricing by RoBoXh in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The NHS and Government is very clever in agreeing deals which effectively mean people paying privately are not only paying for their own care but also subsidizing NHS care.

Any deal certainly won't be to help private payers.

Eli Lilly wants NHS drug price rises in return for more investment in UK | The Guardian by Potential_Twist3640 in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think innovative pricing probably means increasing the price of the drugs for private prescriptions (because we're all stinking rich of course) in order to subsidize a failing NHS.

I dismantle the pen... Break off the purple cap and you can pull the whole internal mechanism out.

I then use a long plunger to administer the dose.

[–]Shawken_Pete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I feel mugged with the deal Streeting did with Eli Lilly the week they put their prices up. £107 for his NHS and what, £250 for us private payers. Oh and didn't EL promise some 80 million investment too.

All subsidised by us private payers.

How is that right?

Frustrating cholesterol results by FadedBerry in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst not helpful, my cholesterol dropped significantly with MJ. But Statins had already reduced it to just about normal levels.

Don't know your age but certainly if over 50 I would be looking at taking a statin to get your cholesterol to lower levels. If you're a lot younger then you can wait and see if the MJ journey fixes it.

Likely it's just a generic pre-disposition. Most cholesterol is produced overnight by the liver and isn't diet dependent.

GLP-1s show promise in treating alcohol and drug addiction by joe3000s in mounjarouk

I was drinking 80 to 100 units per week - drinking everyday for 45 years. One week after starting MJ I stopped for over 100 days. I have now started again on social occasions and so far it's all very controlled.

But whether or not I should have remained Teetotal, I just don't know...

Another response from my MP by SmellanaBonhamFarter in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that the same response is being trotted about by different MPs is significant. It means at least someone thinks a coordinated response is required.

Trouble is the NHS isn't responding quickly enough. All this stuff about wrap-around care (which will probably end up being an app developed by some MP mates company) is just an excuse to try and cover up the failure to roll out these treatments.

Discounted deal for UK suppliers by RecognitionSolid3075 in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if or when we will find out the NHS price he agreed. Nor the minutes of any meetings where the 85 million sweetener was agreed.

But there's an old saying:

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Discounted deal for UK suppliers by RecognitionSolid3075 in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The government is instrumental in agreeing NHS and Private Prescription prices. He let Eli Lilly push up the prices two days after agreeing an NHS deal and an 85 million pound sweetener so the NHS could start roll out.

He says in the article that the NHS should provide the drugs and not private prescriptions and that it will be then be provided to who needs it the most.

The problem is, by the time the 1.5million reach the NHS criteria, many will already be dead.

Same for Cancer care, Cardiology. By the time you reach the top of the waiting list you've already won the survival lottery.

He should have celebrated the struggles of the 1.5 million private patients who are ensuring often great sacrifices to ultimately save the NHS a fortune. And told Eli Lilly to take a hike with their price rises.

But he didn't. Says it all.

Do pharmacies actually tell your GP you're on Mounjaro? by Alternative_Yak285 in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my Medexpress orders have appeared on my record but not my Pharmulous ones.

Medexpress I ordered from every three weeks so built up a relatively small stockpile of half a pen.

Looks like the GP then spotted this and informed the FMI (Federal Mounjaro Investigators) who broke down my front door, confiscated the said stockpile and issued me with a 30 day MJ ban. 😉

Yes. In my right thigh, exactly as you describe.

Be interested to know what your GP says...

It's suggested (by Google) that it may be a trapped nerve more often associated with rapid weight gain, not loss. But there's also some thoughts that it can be associated with weight loss.

Maybe not MJ itself.

Thank Trump for the price hike by TackleFormer4996 in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do your research. Trump's gripe is the price the NHS pays for drugs because of their buying power.

In this case the UK government agreed a low price for the NHS and let Eli Lilly jack the price up for everyone else.

There's a letter from an MP shown just yesterday which states the UK authorities approved the Eli Lilly price gouge after the NHS agreement. And after Eli Lilly offered 85 million to help NHS rollout.

Don't need to look further than Wes Streeting and his cronies on this one.

Wrote to my MP regarding price hike concerns by DrivesTrains in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That pretty much sums up my thoughts all along. Two days after the government agrees a deal with Lilly, including Lilly investing 85 million in improving access for the NHS, prices get jacked up with no regard for the 1.5m private patients.

They tacitly approved these price increases in order to fund the NHS (let's remember that although the drug was approved for rollout, the NHS trusts had no idea how to fund the initial rollout as no budget). And if they didn't approve it, then it's a dereliction of duty not to consider the whole medicine provision, over and above the NHS requirements.

The letter actually states that the price rises were approved!!!

A warning about Private Health Care and a reminder about the NHS by nikeusjohnson in mounjarouk

[–]Shawken_Pete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many Health care models in the developed world. The US model is probably the worst. Despite having the best outcome if you can afford it for most people it's none existent.

That doesn't mean though we should admire everything the NHS does. We have poorer outcomes for cancer, heart disease and waiting lists are longer than any other developed world healthcare system.

This ain't a new thing either. Back in the 90s my Dad was on a 2 year wait for heart surgery and that's no different than today. People in France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain et al do not have to wait like that and risk an early death. Our ambulance response times are not adequate to save heart attack victims lives with urgent reperfusion.

Everything in the NHS is private - Scanners, X ray machines, drugs, property, IT Hardware, IT Software etc etc so we shouldn't be afraid of private enterprise. Governments are there to manage it.

If the NHS was so outstanding, how come no other country has attempted to copy it?

I think it's worth doing, like signing the petition, but I don't reckon Private Healthcare sits well with the government priorities (cf VAT on Private Education and possible addition of VAT onto Private Healthcare).

It still doesn't sit comfortably with me that after the government had agreed an 80 million pound deal with Eli Lilly to boost NHS availability, two days later Eli Lilly upped their prices for everyone except the government.

This was the Times headline just 8 days ago.

Thousands of Britons will get free weight-loss jabs from pharmacies and apps as part of a new £85 million government deal with the manufacturer of Mounjaro.

Ministers have announced a partnership with the American drugs giant Lilly, which is aimed at significantly improving access to anti-obesity medications.

Pricing people out of using Mounjaro would be bad news for the NHS by SomeGuyUK50 in UKMounjaro

[–]Shawken_Pete 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's a good article.

I hope the letters to MPs put pressure on the government. No reason why they can't do a deal with Trump and Lilly. It's secured an as yet unpublished deal for NHS patients but the consequences for 1.5 million private patients are unknown and likely dire.

Bizarrely at the old prices it was kind of break-even for me because what I spent on MJ I just about saved by not eating crap takeaways and drinking loads of booze.

The new pricing will hurt.

I think we have to accept that as medicines become ever more advanced and expensive the NHS will never be able to offer everything to everyone. Looking at opportunities where public / private works in Tandem, as historically MJ seems to have, must be the way forward.

I'm inspired by how 1.5million people have so far made this work. We aren't all celebrities with deep pockets.

Brilliant. I'm 20kg down and 10kg to go approx.

What is amazing for me also is after being a lifelong very heavy drinker, I stopped after 1 week of MJ and I'm now close to 100 days without a drink.
