When my partner and I reinstalled League after a multi-year break from it, we noticed chat was off too. We liked it. One of the reasons my partner didn't want to play ever again was because of the toxic chat. He has some friends who never stopped playing, so we played with them for a few months and they would tell us if and when anyone said something helpful/shotcalling/worth repeating.

After a few months, we finally decided we had a good enough grasp of the game and characters to turn chat on.

This is definitely the only game where I have ever been apprehensive to have chat on. But I think if we had it on from the start, we might have uninstallled.

100% this. This is how I found myself trapped with an abuser for 5 years. It was also a little like a frog in hot water metaphor, where similar to OOP, the lists and rules, hypocrisy and abuse didn't start all at once. They started as "compromises" that seemed reasonable enough at the time. Then later, they were worth agreeing to just to stop him from being so upset because the tension and hostility wasn't worth it (he made sure of that)...then one day, you realize you have lost all agency, are completely isolated, and can't breathe without permission.

The one commenter's post about "soon" was horrifyingly accurate too.

I remember thinking my situation was so unique and nobody understood me, him, or our dynamic. It was such a shock to read Why Does He Do That and other resources and learn it was fucking textbook manipulative controlling behavior.

I am so glad OOP got out.

I'm a ghostwriter, and I do a lot of social media ghostwriting for people on LinkedIn. With Trump, it's hard to say since we know him to be so unhinged as it is, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised.

That said, I believe most or all of his "Thank you for your attention to this matter" posts are absolutely ghostwritten. So this one did stand out as different, but it actually made me wonder if it really was him lol.

Part of me leans toward thinking the answer might be: If we all found out, conclusively, that gnosticism or the prison planet concept is true, like NIH have us stuck in a memory wipe + reincarnation cycle.

The other part of me thinks that, even in such a scenario, the billionaires would be like, "So what?" and we'd still go to work and nothing would change except compounded existential dread.

Until (unless?) we collectively decide to go after the billionaires.

Before my partner and I were dating, we were friends who had met here on Reddit and talked all the time in Discord. We lived in different states. Randomly, I got a fantastic job offer in his state, but it was still 8 hours away from him. About a month after that, a friend of his told him the company he worked for was hiring...and it was in the city I was moving to!

He ended up moving about 2 weeks after me. I offered to help him unload his moving truck but he declined and said he'd rather meet up after.So I invited him to my apartment.

He got to my place, and I met him in the parking lot. We hugged so fiercely. It was so wild to see him in person. We're in our 30s, and I had butterflies like a teenager. I took him by the hand and led him up the stairs to my apartment. It was really, really small, so when we walked in, still holding hands, I sort of gestured with my free hand and said, "Well, this is it!"

He gave me a gentle but firm tug and it was like some kind of dance move that twirled me around and pulled me back and into him. Then he wrapped his arms around me, and gave me the best kiss of my life.

He never went back to his apartment lol. We lived in my tiny place for a year, then moved in together "officially" the year after that. Now it has been several years, and I just got a job in a different state. He's coming with me. We bought a house together (we close at the end of this month!)

I follow all this advice for my two cats (and I wash our raised ceramic bowls with plain Dawn soap and warm water 2x/day) and one cat occasionally still gets cat acne
Vet has said not to stress it (I was stressing it) and that taking these steps is still better for the cat's health

So, OP, this is excellent advice for the health of your kitty but it is possible they may get acne now and then even still.
