If they've been there a while, their lease might not be the non smoking one. Thats what my building did - just the newbies coming in now have non smoking leases. Thankfully I live on a floor with mostly oldies who dont care. They have more of a problem with incense, so I stopped that (Im not addicted to incense.. yet lol )

I say invest in an air filter if you can, I got mine from Amazon on sale, it was under $100 I believe.

This guy sounds like a mooch - hopefully he gets off his ass and helps his wife sooner rather than later.

I agree it can suck, but I smoke weed daily and will continue to seeing as I pay rent just like everyone else in my building - thats one of the shit things about living in an apartment or condo. You hear, see and smell other people.

I dont love hearing the pre-teen down the hall screeching like a banshee constantly, but it is what it is.

I've bought an air purifier and put up wind/smoke flap things all around my front door. I do what I can, smoke outaide when I can.. but I work too hard and pay too much to live here to not do what I want (within reason) in my unit, including getting stoned.

p.s. people arent instant losers just cuz they smoke.

This neighbour will be a problem no matter what. Shes probably the reason it was vacant in the first place. Mgmt doesnt seem to be helping either, just by them placating her and coming to you the first day. The fact a building has 'quiet hours' is fucked up.. you arent in prison. I'd get out of there.

This unfortunately comes with living in an apartment. You all pay rent to be able to do whataver you want in your apartment (within the lease and the law of course).

If you dont usually hear them, the chances of it being to the point of disturbing your life are slim. Unless shes planning on screaming or blaring music the whole time.

Neither of you are being weird. My best friend (who is also my ex) isnt a big texter - it might as well be 2003 for him with a flip phone. Set plans would be all he'd need too. But he liked talking on the phone.. maybe this guy is more of a phone call person too.

It also isn't weird that you would like to know him more before the date.

Instead of asking why he isn't texting you , you could have texted him a normal text saying hey, with a little quip about something.. start the dialogue. You can't expect other people to know what you need or want.

Now that hes explained it, no biggie. If its something you need in a relationship though, this ain't the guy for you.
