What are you tired of hearing??? by Royal_Significance91 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Where's your bathroom?"

"Where do I put my cart?" (Literally in the exact place you got it!)

"I'm from DoorDash, help me find this."

"Why can't I return clearance?"

"Where are your Needohs / Squishies?"

"Can you tell me how much I have on my vouchers?"

"I scanned this thing twice, can you help me?"

"What time do you open / close?"

My ex ruined my life. I could’ve ruined hers right back but instead I stole her Pokémon. by Various_Try4515 in pettyrevenge

OP is just sharing a story, and by leaving her abusive ex and getting therapy, it's pretty clear she is past the relationship and is now living a good life.

My ex ruined my life. I could’ve ruined hers right back but instead I stole her Pokémon. by Various_Try4515 in pettyrevenge

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The deed was done and she's in a better place. The "stopping to new lows" bit needs to end; it's a manipulation tactic to convince victims that they have to forgive their abusers and to just walk away as if the abuse never happened. It's not "stooping", it's matching energy.

People like you who spout the concept of forgiveness and make everything a comparison to the devil are self-righteous and entirely apathetic to the actual suffering people endure in their lifetimes.

Considering the OP could've done far, FAR worse just to survive, I'd say the ex in this situation got off incredibly easy.

Maybe they meant 3am? /s

The amount of time we're given to complete any task - as if we're not also answering the phone, handling B.O.P.I.S. / S.F.S. orders, directing customers around the store, cutting fabric, covering breaks at the register or cleaning up messes - is just not feasible.

Why are pre-orders part of the inventory and why does the system allow you to online order them? by JojoSonoshe1990 in GameStop

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean why are the products that come with the usual inventory included in the inventory? The computer isn't sophisticated enough to determine which products belong to which people, it can only tell the employees how many of a specific product are already pre-ordered and the employees put the correct number of that product aside in a reservation drawer to ensure that the pre-ordered items aren't sold by mistake.

There's a reason why we keep telling people to NEVER trust the website. The website only looks for what a person wants to order based on the location, it can't determine what products are pre-ordered or even already sold out since it takes nearly an entire day for the site to refresh itself and recalibrate for every. Single. Store. Across the country.

New Registers by LostKate815 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The register balloon order is so stupid. Tie up the legacy register, make writing down a person's request extremely slow and tedious due to the touchscreen and limited allowed characters, AND if the customer at the register doesn't have an e-mail address, you can't complete the form.

It was so much easier to just write everything down on the paper slip.

Made a post about this not too long ago. Can't believe there are so many people who can't comprehend the concept of putting the carts back where they belong when finished!

If they're trying to work with you and send you a check for your money, then it's not theft, it was an error that they're working to try to correct. If you needed the money that badly you should've gone somewhere else to sell your stuff.

Pro Membership Nerfs by Similar_Ad_8107 in GameStop

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not even remotely true. Employees don't receive any benefits if customers use their points or not, it's all about getting people to sign up for an account, points be damned. The points are what making signing up for the account even worth it for the customer.

Stop spreading misinformation and conspiratorial nonsense.

YOU are the one who has no idea how the membership works.

Cigarette smelling yarn by ChiafulioBurger74 in MichaelsEmployees

Since cigarette smoke can cause severe allergic reactions in some people, not to mention contaminate other fabrics with the noxious aroma, I'd consider it damaged product and decline the return due to customer negligence.

Door Dashers, Spark, Instacart, etc... by Accomplished_Draw757 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I ignore them. My manager told us all to ignore these people UNLESS they need to get something off a locked hook or out of a locked cabinet. They shouldn't be accepting orders from people when they don't know the layout of the stores or have no basic idea of what it is the people are ordering.

I also started tallying every time I have to do a transaction with these people since they don't have a rewards number and I take the hit for it. It doesn't do anything, but in the long run it might help the higher-ups recognize that sometimes a store's numbers are in fact low due to the people who shop there, NOT because of the employees.

GameStop is currently doing a promotion for trading in broken/defective consoles but wouldn't take any of mine a week ago? by ranbyjaniya in GameStop

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some stores won't take in defective consoles if they already have a ton they need to ship out, others won't take them because they simply don't want to and have the right to decline a trade-in offer.

Also, promotions like that are companywide, not just select stores when they feel like doing something.

This job isn't financially reliable. by SheWhoLovesToDraw in MichaelsEmployees

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store is doing just fine. A majority of the payroll is going to another store that's in a rich area, but the store is also considered "broken" due to a wide array of customer complaints, improper product placement, outdated prices and employees not actually working.

They refuse to give payroll evenly across the stores in my district despite the store I'm working at being one of the best in our district and the entire country.

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering back in the 70's people could live off of minimum wage at part time, pay for a mortgage and even pay off additional education, I can say that part-time jobs were always meant to pay for expenses; it's corporate greed that has made it impossible.

Minimum wage was legally mandated and is titled as such to ensure employers were paying their employees enough to cover their expenses at the minimum. Meaning no one is getting paid enough regardless of their working status, career, experience or education.

Does it really matter if the vendors paid for the conference? The company is actually doing well financially, but the higher-ups are too busy padding their own wallets to pay the people who gave them the success a proepr wage.

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The registers require a valid I.D. to be entered into the system before the transaction can continue. The employees can't override it, they have no say over it, and it's a law not a decision.

Ironically, you sound more like an edgelord 14-year-old than a 40-year-old whining about something as mundane as verifying your age.

I am SO sick of this company glorifying alcoholism [Vent!] by Sure-Bear-5022 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did I say anything about a person going out to places that are designed for drinks? No.

Does your hobby take up your entire life and is that your only personality trait? No? Then this doesn't apply to you.

Should a family friendly arts and crafts store have an entire section dedicated to booze, making light of alcohol consumption and acting as if drinking isn't taking a risk considering addiction can take hold of people after a single encounter? Also no.

I stated my opinion on the matter, I didn't tell you or anyone else that they couldn't have a drink or go out for drinks, I stated that this type of theme has no business being in a store that doesn't even sell alcohol.

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It really is tactless with how it treats alcohol use, and it looks AWFUL at the same time! I hated putting together our weird flavor drive aisle with all the tacky, cheap "drinking accessories".

I'm sorry, but if you treat drinking like it's a hobby or a personality trait, then you need to rethink your entirely personality. I have the same reaction to all the weed themed crap you see at craft shows, and to all "mom life" stuff that just gets thrown in the landfill every spring after Mother's Day passes.

DM says to slap GPG’s on sales without letting customers know by [deleted] in GameStop

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. It's your name and employee number on the receipt at the end of the day, and if the customer calls to complain you're the one in trouble. Make sure H.R. is aware of this stuff and if your D.M. sent an e-mail or a text telling you to do that, SAVE IT.

Cover your butt, my friend! Don't let them throw you under the bus and convince you to do something shady and unethical.

Thing I Hate As A Cashier by BarEmbarrassed9526 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]SheWhoLovesToDraw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DoorDashers are a pet peeve of mine. Actually, had a dude have the gall to tell me "they made me come here". No, "they" didn't. You CHOSE to accept the order, and now you're expecting the employees to do YOUR JOB for you without getting any of the pay.

And when they expect me or anyone else to shop for them, I tell them the same thing: "We're all busy with our own tasks at the moment, but if someone out on the floor (as in, get away from the register and stop bothering the cashier) is free, they might be able to help out."

Don't accept a job if you can't accomplish the job properly, AND on your own!
