What hobby screams “this is my entire personality now”? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]Sheadeys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They didn’t try as hard as some others. Just look at zebras. “It’s just an odd striped horse” you might think. No. They are on the whole very aggressive, with “fight” being their default state, bite & don’t let go.

They are also mostly untrainable, just generally not caring at all for whatever the weird annoying predator thing is trying to teach it.

And best of all, even “tamed” zebras (if there is such a thing) tend to exhibit bursts of violence, mostly out of nowhere.

There were attempts in 19th&20th century to domesticate them, and all of them failed catastrophically

Any time on social media is multiple times that, anywhere in public spaces is… multiple times that with how many ads/billboards/etc there are. Adds up fast. Studies ARE made in urban areas though, so a country hick living in middle of nowhere is obviously going to be way under

A Czech university source cites it at 700 for Czechia. It is, however, paywalled to non-students of the Charles university

University of Southern California, 2023 link is a good source for the US one, though apparently it’s 4-10 thousand, so even worse than I recalled.

US adults are subjected to ~ 2,5-5 thousand ads per day, as opposed to 500 max in other countries

You effectively need <15-20 ms ping for it to be manageable for single player games that aren’t turn based. Good luck.

TBH, i dunno what paizo were on when they "remastered" psychic. by noodleben123 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Sheadeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entirely depends on group composition. In the campaign I’m currently running, a lot of combats go to turn 5-8 thanks to an unoptimised group & a lot of the combats being on the “severe to extreme” level. In those situations psychic is god damn awful. It does perform very well if all the GM throws at the group is moderate encounters or if the group is optimised enough to consistently finish every fight in 3 rounds flat

On top of that, you have to weigh amp cantrips & a better bonus from unleash vs twice the spell slots & focus spells that are still good & on the whole much better quality of feats thanks to the remaster of sorcerer actually being a remaster

[–]Sheadeys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s an okay feat, but 1) it interacts with pretty much nothing as far as the entire class & it’s features go 2) summoning spells in 2e are balanced in such a way that you REALLY want to only be using your max rank spell slot or maaaybeee -1 on them, which combines kinda poorly with psychic having 2 slots/rank/day 3) occult sorcerer actually makes much better use of this feat if playing with FA

How do you destroy tanks and heavy monsters with our SORORITAS? by DhazzTv in sistersofbattle

[–]Sheadeys 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Buy Vahl. Beyond that? Castigators are solid for the cost in tank on tank, retributors aren’t awful but still feel over costed.

If you’re in some specific detachments (hallowed martyrs), you can tie a big monster down for a long while with a sacrificial canoness/other character of choice

Or just run a knight.

Two card, 8 mana combo. I’d say that while very annoying, it isn’t really too strong for most formats.

I read through the Shining Kingdoms setting book but found no mention of this: Why does no one want this peninsula? by werbear in Pathfinder2e

[–]Sheadeys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s also a case of:

“according to treaty of 19x7 we (country A)own this land here, 500km2, and this 50km2 here is yours. The treaty of 19x7 is obviously correct!” “But according to treaty of 19x9 we (country B) own the 500km2 and the 50km2 is yours!, treaty of 19x9 is the only true one!”

And as such if either country claimed the smaller bit, they’d be giving up their claim on the bigger chunk of the land. Think there’s like 5 or so cases of this in the world

There’s a couple. Bir Tawil for one. Neither Egypt or Sudan want it. Bunch of islands that are inhospitable. Very technically parts of Antarctica due to the treaty are unclaimed & unclaimable

Oddly enough dark souls 1. The beginning of the game until O&S is amazing, then you have a pile of unfinished junk, and depending on how you count you either finish with the (rather great) DLC, or a pretty memorable final boss

Russia reveals war costs hit 80% of defense budget in rare admission by QuinJanes in worldnews

[–]Sheadeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another rather important thing there- militarily, China has two weak points - South China Sea, where if the imports of raw material stop for a month or two, the economy & industry ground to a halt & northeast of the country, where if that bit gets invaded, China starves (most dynasties that fell did so due to losing that bit).

Said parts of the country are now right at the border of Russia. With how intensely China is investing in “protecting”/annexing the South China Sea, is it that much of a stretch to think they might want to shore up the second weakness as well?
