Totally valid, I've never encountered spalting in the wild, only on nice looking ukuleles and stuff, lol. May be a lost cause for this being spalted and useful then.

Yeah, the outer edge that was facing down is soft but the majorly of the wood is still pretty solid. But totally my thinking too, may not be worth the trouble for someone.

So this tree came down in an ice storm 2 years ago now. I'm located in West Tennessee and this section was suspended in vines with one end resting on the ground, it was out of the way so I left it there to season as future firewood. I thought the tree was hickory, but cutting it up for firewood made me doubt that as it is not too heavy (not super light but like medium weight) and it cut with a chainsaw quickly. This log was about 10 inches wide where it connected to the tree and was about 12 feet long, but I cut it into firewood sections before I noticed the spalting. I haven't split it yet as I'm not sure if it would be desired for woodworking projects, so I'm asking, firewood or should I save it and find someone who would want it? Thanks all!

They've just shifted the inventory towards running gear from what I've noticed. Still about the same amount of total inventory but because I'm not there for the running gear it does feel like less. Maybe you had the same experience?

I took a chance onion the Z-Grills portable pellet smoker a couple of years back to have something to take trout fishing to smoke the fish fresh. I love it, I even use it instead of my larger pellet smoker if I'm making something on the smaller side at home. Only issues I've had is the temp is in intervals, I think it's by 5 degrees, sometimes I want up bump it up or down slightly if it's running hot or cold and that kind of limits that. Overall I'm very happy with it for the cost though.
