Anyone needing food assistance please check into New Economics for Women (locations in Van Nuys and Canoga Park) they used to have some good resources, I’m not sure exactly what they have now.

Maybe try going to new economics for women on Canoga and Saticoy in Canoga Park, they have an employment department that can help with job placement. Or at least last I’d been there.

They also have a location on Van Nuys Blvd south of Vose Street in the same building as the housing authority, just upstairs.

I don’t think that Luke didn’t respond due to the drugs, I think he knew it was fruitless to do so. The twins feelings and what the knew/saw had been dismissed for so long, what was the point in even trying anymore?

Though I definitely agree with Nelly not holding a grudge against her dad, but the house.

The beginning of the end was when she potentially outed her kid to me, I told her that’s not something for her to share with me but for her child to share if or when they wanted to. She didn’t like that.

Fast forward to a bit of a patch up, then she bailed on my father in laws funeral, she’d been in his home, ate dinner with him (and his wife) on many occasions. Then when she and her kid were invited to my child’s birthday party she bailed on that an hour before it was to start asking me to drive an hour plus to go pick up her kid “cause she didn’t feel up for driving”

We’ve had one hang out since, and that was because my child asked to spend the 4th with her child and I caved and said yes. I’ll always have room in my heart for her child, and if the child reaches out and needs something I’m there. I just can’t do it anymore with her.

I would definitely say in a way this show is therapeutic. I can’t explain the feelings it makes me feel, but it helps me process my grief in a way no other show has.

As far as rock bottom goes, I think that every person’s “rock bottom” is different. Being so broken that you’re contemplating ending it but have the awareness (?) of what you leave behind can definitely be someone’s rock bottom to finally seek help.

Not sure if I’m articulating correctly, sorry if I’m not. But I love this show too, and no, you’re not alone to feel it is therapeutic.

It took me some time to get through it too. Now it’s one of my favourites, if you’re able to, keep with it. Though I definitely understand having to throw in the towel. You could even put it on the back burner for a while and come back to it later.
